That’s the state of the half of our roads. Last time I went to my grandparents, I thought the bus would turn over.
The problem is that they won’t repair properly. The roads need major renovation. Then they can serve for at least 30 years.
Though why make a major renovation and steal money only once in 30 years, when you can make some patching sh*t every year and steal more and more from the patching repair budget.
Idk how much is that but considering the state of the roads, I can only guess that they steal about 70% of it.
Wow, and I thought road repairs were bad here. Where they just do a resurface so you just get a really smooth jolt that can induce car sickness in people.
Which is worse, really smooth or really bumpy?
Idk, I don’t get car sickness but each is really annoying. The smooth one feels like being on a ship in rough seas, the bumpy is a sharper jolt but is more intense. On the smooth ones it doesn’t help that our car has hydraulic suspension which can wallow about at low speeds sometimes.
The second one is dangerous here… is all.

Yeah, my dad says that the smooth ones are the dangerous ones on motorways here. The ones that make the car shake from side to side as opposed to up and down.
Cuz the smooth ones are more likely to make the car lose control, while the bumpy ones are like speed bumps to slow the car down?
No, the smooth ones induce more horizontal motion which is more likely to make you lose control if you’re inexperienced where as the sharp ones can at worst make you lose grip for a split second. I’m not sure if that’s correct (I can’t remember the exact explanation my dad gave me) but that’s what makes most sense to me.
What “grinds my gears” is one general feeling I’ve had for most of my life: that life has no purpose.
