Personal Projects

It’s been trial and error with the FV3 pretty much all day. There’s no way to make it concealed since I have almost no mounting points. This is as far as I got today.

The gorilla tape is a temporary solution. I still need to mount a servo below the bracket to trigger the compressed air. The biggest setback today is that the lighter terminal block has been rendered useless and I’ll likely have to buy another lighter. I’ll see what I can think of when I next get time to work in it.

Oh its k . You are an engineer :+1: so you can deal with the stuff!

The only annoying side effect of my messy desk is the strong smell of gorilla tape when I go to sleep. The body with the compressed air can is almost right next to my head.

…of my desk :joy:

Good thing it’s not armed, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

I just got lucky and picked up the last pack of front rims for Banshee for a reasonable price on some random site. I’m good for 3 more sets of tyres. These old bearing type front rims are becoming a rarity  . I’d switch to hex fronts (like I switched to hex rears) except the front hex axles aren’t compatible with my inline steering knuckle and axle upgrade.

Yes I help you robot robot wars I am OK come to do it for you to

This is my thread mate, you either start speaking like a human or I start flagging you for spam.

Good and cool

Quick update, I’m still working on the wheelie bar, Hellhound hasn’t been touched. In other news I bought an 84T spur for Banshee. With the new tyres I’m planning on getting for my birthday the estimated top speed will be 70 MPH!

Another update:

I’m putting Hellhound on hold (again) for now as I focus on my uni projects and Banshee when I have the time for personal projects. The upside to this is that I finally cleaned my second desk.

Also I now have a mini fire extinguisher (the red bottle), it says “firefighter” on the bottle but when my dad gave it to me I automatically read it as “firelighter” thinking he’d found me flamethrower fuel. LOL :joy:

What a change on your desk! Lol

And as for the fire fuel, did you do some other try?? :fire:

No, I don’t have new fuel, my dad gave me a mini fire extinguisher and I mistook it for something flammable.

Another update.

Yesterday I put in the 84T spur gear and today I ordered some Proline Electron T M4 tyres. I decided to try tyres with tread this time. These ones are slightly larger in diameter than the Proline Prime T M4 tyres I’m running now. That combined with the new spur will bump up the estimated top speed to 70 MPH. This time I’ll gaffer tape the insides to stop them from ballooning.

Also since I have a free week I should hopefully be able to make progress with the wheelie bar; I might even be able to finish it but it is not certain.

Ok, so since I’ve decided to put my site on my CV I’ve had to change a couple of project names for obvious reasons. The first name I’ve changed is FTS; it now stands for Final Test Subject and not F*** This S*** :joy: . The second name change is the failed misc project ‘Dafuq’ which I’m now calling ‘Longshot’. I don’t want potential employers asking me about my project names in interviews if they happen to look at my site. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably for the best
