No but serious now… Learning a good self defence can save your life. I have a special defence weapon, designed by former combat soldier. It’s not lethal but it can hurt the other party like hell.

I don’t agree. We have all kinds of left parties that are ok. If you talk about the far left, then I agree, those are radicals… I know “socialism” and “communism” are bad words in the US but step out of that view for once and know/learn that there are all kinds of variants. This is exactly the “American” view that I was talking about… life (and politics) shouldn’t and isn’t a black or white thing.

All this arming up and preparing isn’t my way.
I just want to live peacefully and trusting.
Not scared and prepared.
Should I get harmed or killed cause of it, then so be it.
I did a self defence course once.
I know three main steps I think I could handle.
But what I mostly learned, that one course is nothing, if someone is really coming for you. I would have to train at least weekly.
And for the most common attacks the best thing is, to not get scared but angry.
Anger gives a lot of strength and energy.
To that being really loud. Also not high voiced, hysterical loud, but mad, scary crazy chicken loud. Most people nowadays have never yelled at all, to know how, makes an impression.
Back in that course, I did it with another shepherding apprentice. The trainer was a police girl. And we were swetting, jumping and suffering in our pretend to follow her orders.
The next day, deworming sheep. One ram jumped the pen, hit my breast, I fell backwards, and he trampled over me. The speed I was up, roard in anger, got this ram, that I had trouble handeling under normal circumstances, gave him some and throw him back in the pen. Just anger energy.
The other apprentice commented: that’s the power you need for self defence.
And thats what stayed with me.
Don’t be scared, week, a victim.
And of course really big dogs!

but I don’t live scared or prepared. Not at all.
But I do live on my own terms, that also means that I’ll die at my own terms, and not because some stupid asshole takes it away from me.
I did 5 years of judo (which is a purely defensive sport, although you could kill someone with the strangle techniques). In my whole life, I needed it once. But that one time could have been my last if it wasn’t for the self defense and then you wouldn’t be talking to me right now.
And I do trust people, sometimes too much.
About the peace thing, sorry but I’ve found throughout my life that that’s an illussion.

So I go with my bubble.
That’s what I try to. I refuse to not go alone on nightly bike rides, walk in the city alone. I take that risk. On the other side, I know that I, as a girl, don’t go out alone. Besides the places I know and trust the inhabitants. That’s something, experience teached me.
And I am very sensitive sencing male aggression and violence, avoiding it fast.
