Kind of a dilemma here, I got a ticket for the summit but my husband didn’t. How is that going to work? Lol. If anyone has a ticket and can’t go, lemme know!

I just managed to get a pass now! Tickets kept randomly coming available for the House of Blues shows in the days after the original on-sale, so I decided to check the Summit page to see if the same thing might happen here, and I totally lucked out! (And at least as of 2-3 minutes ago, Summit passes were still available – so if you see this post and want to go, get in there!)
I’ll also be coming down from NYC, so I might join the NYC Crew if you’ll have me! I’ve got a friend coming with me to the show, but like some others, will be flying solo at the Summit!
Yes me too!!! I decided to check because of what happened with the house of blues show…
Can’t wait to meet some east coast LPUers now!!! OMG! Freaking out!!!
Yay!!!
Hey !! I’m Soo happy you got a ticket !! I’m excite to meet people from all over !!
I am! Can’t wait!!! Conn Mass and then NJ

Hey !!! we would love to have you = ]
Ill be driving down from NYC with the wife and father in law but if people are meeting before the summit in the Camden area, count us in. Will also be there for the show also.
Where is everyone staying, we should book rooms at the hotel. I plan on getting a room at penn landing or the hyatt maybe, somewhere right on the water in philly, safe and can take ferry over to summit and concert, from all my research this is the best and safest options. Nice places too, and things to do in old town there as well, would be cool if we could get a group staying a night or two?
I’m glad someone started researching hotels, I’m up for staying anywhere. Let me know what you find and hopefully there is a group of us so we can continue the party after the summit!
This is precisely my plan, as well. Pretty sure Penn Landing is just a short cab ride from the Amtrak station, too, so that works well for anybody who might be taking the rails into town. (I don’t know about the rest of the NYC crew, but I haven’t driven a car in five years – and only three times in the entire last decade – so it’s definitely best for everybody involved if I stay off the roads!)
Would be very happy to meet all of you in person! Especially hanging in a hotel and stuff. I went to the LA show and met so many people on here and then tweets and fb etc… Exchanged numbers etc
I can’t wait to meet the east coast LPUers!!!
Would live to join the group as well. My hubby and I are both super fans. Well I think I’m a little bit more of one!
I’m putting myself up for adoption for the day…lol.
I’ll be coming from Los Angeles, and I don’t know anything or anyone from the east coast! If anyone finds a cheap motel/hotel for the night please let me know!
Starting to plan on how I’m going to get the arena and I need some help with the public transportation. I’m most likely not going to go the Summit pre-events the day before but rather the day of the actually Summit (Aug. 17). I’m probably going to sleepover at my grandams house who lives in New York about a 15 min. train ride to 42nd street and eliminate the extra 1 hour and a half bus trip from Pompton Lakes to New York on the 17th. So once I’m in the city what should I take that’s the quickest way there? The NJ Transit buses and trains take over 4 hours to get to the Trenton Transit Center from which I would then walk to the arena. The Amtrak from Penn Station to the 30th Street Amtrak Station in PA is much quicker but it’s over an hour walk to the arena. So can anyone give me suggestions keeping in mind that I don’t want to wander the streets that much since it’s a dangerous area and I’ll be just a 17 year old kid by himself haha I also won’t be staying over in a hotel ether probably.
In my experience, Amtrak is the best way to get from NYC to Philadelphia if you don’t have a car (and sometimes even if you do!). There’s a cab stand at the train station, so I’d recommend just jumping in a cab at that point. It’s only a 5-6 mile ride from the train station to the venue, so I don’t imagine it would be too expensive. (Can any Philadelphia locals confirm or deny?) It’s altogether possible there will be others headed down from NYC in the morning, so you might even be able to split the cab. (I won’t be making any definite plans till the full schedule of events is released, but I’m happy to jump in a cab with a bunch of people if I end up coming in morning-of!)

Thanks so much for replying! I didn’t know that there was a cab stand at the train station so that’s really good to know and I’ll definitely be willing to split the cab with people. Yeah I’m kinda guessing that most people will be heading out the 16th for the events on that day but that would mean I would need to stay out a hotel which isn’t something I would ideally want to do since it might be kinda expensive and I would need to get my parent’s consent also. Until the events are announced I’ll probably be heading out from NYC the morning of so if anyone is also doing that let me know and we can get a group of LPUers traveling both days, the 16th and 17th! Thanks for helping me out again imsiobhan!
ETA: I also found this. It’s from 2009, so definitely confirm that it’s still a possibility before you try it! It sounds like a bit of hassle, but I suppose it could be an option if costs are a major concern.
And yeah, the 30th Street Amtrak station in Philadelphia is a major transit center. It’s not quite on par with Grand Central Station or Penn Station, but pretty close! So yes, totally not a problem to get a cab there!

Ohh wow so now I have 2 possible ways to get to the arena from the Amtrak station. I guess I’ll be taking the bus route if I don’t travel with other LPUers that I would split the cab bill with. Thanks so much with providing all of this great information! I really appreciate it!
There are actually several ways. By far the quickest to get from NYC to Philadelphia is by using Amtrak. Only takes about 1 1/2 hrs depending and doesnt cost too much.
Once you reach the 30th street station in Philly, you can either:
Take a cab. It’ll most likely cost between $15 and $30. But sometimes cabs won’t cross state lines and if they do there might be an additional fee.
You can take the 21 bus to Penn’s Landing or SEPTA Market-Frankford(blue) line to 2nd Street and take a short walk to Penn’s Landing… from there you can catch the ferry to the Camden waterfront.
From the 30th street station you can walk or take the 21 bus to the 15th-16th street Patco Line. Take that to the Broadway(Walter Rand Transit Center) station. From there you can either walk down Martin Luther King Jr Blvd to the venue or for a safer way you can immediately at the same station transfer to the NJ Riverline which leaves you off right in front of the venue.
Hope this helps everyone out, if you havent figured it out already. If me, the wife, and father in law end up meeting with some of you before the summit I have one extra seat in my car.
Has anyone ever thought of meeting at a central location in NYC, finding someone who has a license, and renting a van that can hold like 10-12 people. It’s actually pretty cost effective if you can get the van full.
Blah I’m stressing out about this more then I should… Still no one from New England Going? I really don’t wanna have to drive the whole trip alone. Where is everyone staying as far as hotels goes?

That’s some extremely helpful information and will definitely help us out with planning so thanks for posting it! The van is actually a great idea and it’ll take about 2 hours from NYC, depending where in New York you are, to get to Camden so that’s about the same time it would to take the Amtrak and then whatever you choose to get to the arena.
I am definitely going to be staying two nights thursday and friday night. From my research and for safety and ease of travel, the best places to stay is in philly at the hyatt, penns landing or comfort in. Comfort in is the least expensive. So its about 129 a night to 200 a night depending on which one you stay at. All of them are well within a very short walking distance to the ferry, so if you drive, like I will, the car can stay parked at the hotel lot, take a cab if wanted to or just a nice walk since it will be early down to the ferry, over to camden to the concert. Seems to be the best plan. If others are going we should get a group at penns landing or comfort inn. This link helps alot http://www.concerthotels.com/venue-hotels/susquehanna-bank-center-hotels/302669
We should do the HYATT, its nice, on the water and provides ferry service…The Hyatt Regency is the only waterfront hotel providing ferry access to sites both in Philadelphia & along the Camden waterfront
So the hotel is nice, so is penns landing and looks out to the bridge at night on the water and comfort inn actually has much better reviews now from the research I did, is the cheapest, but the Hyatt and penns landing are nicer, jacuzi tubs, better scenery etc. Lets get a group together and plan this out, we have a couple of weeks to set it up.
I booked a hotel in Philly called Comfort Inn Downtown/Historic Area. It’s a mile away from the venue, so if anyone needs a hotel, you can try there…
