Radiohead have just had to cancel their shows which are the same week as Linkin Park. The guys are really good with their fans, I’d imagine that there will be a change of venue for those with tickets for Manchester.
Yasss! Will be way easier to coordinate through whatsapp or something
Awesome! - looks like I’m not buying Manc tickets until LP update us with whats happening…more reason to go to London! @nikkikeswani
Manchester Arena just put an update up. Nothing about LP, but some shows in August are cancelled so I’d go London if I were you.
Manchester Arena to stay closed until September - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40275744
I reckon LP haven’t said anything yet as they’re looking for new venues. It’s not like them to cancel.
Yep saw it an hour or so ago. I wonder what they will do? Birmingham isn’t sold out yet. There are still standing tickets. I reckon they’ll just cancel and refund and make people go to Bham (1hr 30mins on train). I have no idea! Tough situations for many bands like LP. No doubt whatever they do there will be some “fans” who criticise their decision…
Just seen some guy pissing and moaning on Twitter, which just seems inappropriate given that it’s out of the bands hands and the reasons are more than acceptable. If it was a straightforward cancel, I’m sure they would’ve said by now. They’re probably trying hard to find a suitable alternative before having to cancel if all else fails. Has Manchester got an O2 Academy? Maybe they’ll do something more intimate
There is the Manchester Apollo which is the closest thing. Its exactly like Brixton to be honest, maybe a bit smaller?
Could be a nice alternative. The downside is that it’s the last date of the UK leg, so they could well just leave early. But they care too much about letting the fans down to do that without trying first
Let’s wait and see
Manchester Arena date confirmed to not be playing. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. Due to structural damage of the arena, all shows and artists until August are cancelled. Manchester ones can try to get tickets to Birmingham/London OR get a refund via Ticketmaster or whatever you used to get your tickets.
They tried didn’t they, shame that they couldn’t arrange something else. The stadiums were too big, considering that they’re doing 2 London shows and Birmingham too. There was a lot of speculation of a Blinkin Park show, but I would say that there would be a good 50% of crossover for people that had tickets to see both bands already, so it wouldn’t necessarily fill up the venue. So many angry people on Twitter and Facebook, made my blood boil that so many couldn’t see the bigger picture, or be more sympathetic. But that’s the world I guess.
All people for Manchester are being refunded, I was going to Birmingham with my parents but there aren’t any good seats left, especially near the front/sides. The only ones are right at the back. So I’m especially gutted now. Coming back from college and now being told this.
What about we start something to get Linkin Park play the show that we were all promised for? Because I had a look at Birmingham and nothing is playing on the Friday so if they made that show where all of the people for Manchester could come down, and have their original seats.
Lovely idea, I don’t know how likely it is, but I’d go Birmingham 2 nights running if they did that.
Well I bet if enough people complained, they would. My dad has as well both on Facebook and Twitter.
isnt blink playing on friday?
Oh yeah, ok maybe not that date but at least reschedule it for the people in Manchester can enjoy the show. Alice Cooper and a few more artists are performing st the MEN arena in November so why not then?
The problem with people is that they don’t bloody understand that it is NOT up to the band. They tried to book a different venue but since a LOT of shows are taking place around that time, it’s impossible. Like, it’s not their fault the arena will be closed, they tried, can’t be booked anywhere else, end of story.
Instead of being glad they are refunding the tickets in case people can’t make it to any other shows they complain. It’s so frustrating.
Exactly! And a bomb went off and people died! I don’t think people get it
I saw them live last time in 2009! I can´t wait to see them performing!!!
