I liked it so much in fact that I tagged along with the rest of my family to watch it in the cinema the other day (they’re still screening it for some reason) since my sister wanted to see it for her birthday but was busy with school.
My sister recommended I watch Tau recently, what a heap of garbage. I can’t even be bothered to rant about it. They wasted the film’s only good actor (Gary Oldman) on an AI’s voice. I’ve told my sister to not recommend me Netflix films anymore.
Just remembered that I watched How to train your dragon 3 a few weeks ago. Really good film.
Is anyone going to watch that Gretel and Hansel movie when it.comes out?
I’ve started. And I must say it’s very good. I have never seen or it’s been a long time since I saw anything as good as this.
It’s the world that comes after the world we know was in crisis. And some fundamentalists took over the power. I think it’s a good depiction of fundamentnal system and warning against it. One of the people at power says in one of the episodes - to make the world better doesn’t mean that everyone will be in a better conditon (something like that, it’s not the exact quotation)
I’d love to read the book. Especially in original.
Rewatched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It’s just as good as I remember it to be, perhaps even better. Everything is on point, the acting, the visual effects, the story, character development. This time I especially noticed the themes that the film explores, such as our relationship to nature, becoming an adult and rebellion.
Started watching Veronica Mars over the past few weeks, finished it yesterday. Really good series and decent film, though season 3 finished way too abruptly.
Finished the Apes trilogy this week with Dawn and War. I know for sure now, this is the best film trilogy I’ve seen so far. What’s so interesting is that some ape characters seem to be more human than the human characters. Their personalities are so fleshed out, can’t help but feel for them as they get caught up in a war that they didn’t ask for. I could go on forever but to summarize: if you haven’t seen these films, go watch them!
Edit: great analysis of themes present in these films (might contain spoilers)
The latest trilogy deserves all the love it gets. I guessyou will be interested to know that a 4th film is in motion as well.
They are doing a 4th film? Awesome!
Maybe this will be a trilogy too. The article reads:
“Sources say that the film will be a reboot so it is unlikely that it will be connected to the previous ‘Planet of the Apes’ trilogy that was done under 20th Century Fox. My prediction is that it will reboot the original 1968 film. The film is targeting to begin filming later this year, which likely will mean a 2022 release date.”
I feel like I’m the only person that doesn’t get the hype behind these films. I watched the first two, I remember thinking they were ok. Haven’t watched them a second time and don’t really remember anything about them.
Not everyone has to like a movie to be good. It is individual taste and preferences. The world is gaga over some movies which I totally despise. I move on. I like movies which many might hate. We move on. Enjoy what you like and dont force it on another for a happy stressfree life.
I hope it won’t undermine all the great things about the latest trilogy. War has just the perfect ending, it doesn’t need any more films imo.
Just finished John Wick 3. Awesome movie. Just action and not much talk. I like it. And kind of surprised that there is gonna be a 4th chapter.
I hope so. It was meant to be released for 2021 but with what is going on now, I’m not sure about it.
I don’t mind if it comes later in 2021 or maybe 2022. I would be happy if the movie comes out.
I have seen a couple of episodes from the series and I am liking it. Stories are somewhat predictable but it never has a dull moment and is immersive.
So, I’ve watched through the Alien movies, so far, alien and aliens are my favourite, followed by Alien Covenant and Prometheus then Alien 3. Don’t know why but I wasn’t getting into it.
Currently watching Alien Resurrection.
Edit: finished watching Alien Resurrection. Liked Ripley playing as a clone, the xenomorphs being clever to escape and some of the deaths that happened… and that’s it.
Resurrection and A3 are at the bottom still
