7th studio album announced

Just remember guys. In 10 years, most of them will be nearing 50. Linkin Park won’t last forever, sadly.

50? How time flies… Damn it u just reminded me that my parents were born in the 1950s. Exactly, how young can I possibly be.

Growing old doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll stop writing music or keeping busy with their other projects though, right? I mean they can still keep doing what they love, music, art, directing etc.

Let’s hope they’re one of those bands that plays until they can’t feasibly play anymore.

At least, their music will last till the end of our days, like Mike explained it at the song "in the end, time is a valuable thing…

Dave I think always writes names of his wife and children on albums’ booklets. And there’re also some photos from his wedding floating around lol

If I remember exactly Chester said something like “we will be playing shows that long, as our health let us”. Or maybe it was Mike… nevermind xD

We’re thinking way ahead of time lol. Let’s see how that 7th album will be like whenever it comes out.

Sure, we have no other choice, and btw meanwhile we discuss a little about this and that, so time goes by faster

They say new album every 12 to 18 months, but I sure as hell hope it isn’t rushed.

No no, you guys. This is going to be great stuff for their new album right here:

So, last night I saw this interview Mike did for Rock In Rio USA (I know, I’m a month late lol) but he was asked about a new album and he said he has already written a lot of stuff and already played a few demos for the guys and hinted that they want to release the new album “hopefully in the first half of next year”. Now, we all know this can and probably will change but yeah, just wanted to share that… it is a thing that he’s played them already for the others right? They’re slowly getting into the writing process again.

Something I want to see them do again is use lead guitar riffs for the rhythm parts of a verse. Like how they did on Forgotten, Pushing Me Away, A Place For My Head, Skin to Bone, (the first sound you hear in the song is a guitar with a heavily amplified chorus effect; that’s the sound I’m talking about) Valentine’s Day, In Between etc. Instead of doing it the same way though, I’d love to see them use different effects like phase shifting and overdrive with the guitars. One of the things I loved about Living Things was that everything was either a guitar or keyboard originally, but they sampled all the recordings with different electronic effects. I’d love to see them do this again except not to the extent of LT; I’d like to know its a guitar this time around! :stuck_out_tongue:

sounds like the others quoting right or wrong so why we wont call it Mike Shinoda and orcestra, that comes clear nearer to the reality than LP, I´m worriing a bit :open_mouth:

Mike Shinoda The Most Ferocious: he storms shit with or without an accomplice.

Well, Mike was always been the one that brought the most stuff in… actually I believe he is the one that brings the initial demos in since like forever (with the exception of MTM since they all wrote demos as we saw at the making of) and they go from there and develop those. I’m sure the others have ideas that bring in as well, especially Joe (Mike has said many times that Joe comes up with pretty crazy stuff sometimes) but 90% of stuff is Mike’s from the start.

What a responsebillity

@KarL_LewiS I’m not sure I’d like that to be honest. LT is great album but I love how Brad is back to playing real guitar now, I’d hate it to see him lose interest again…

@The_early_walker Yeah… he’s the lead when they’re in the studio I guess.

He always played the real guitar, they just sampled it afterwards. The effects o suggested are effects that many classic guitar players have used; they’re little pedals that you press with your foot and they change the way the guitar sounds through the amp. I didn’t mean full electronic conversion like on LT, but just different effects pedals. He used a new one on THP (the “wawa” effect at the end of GATS, the solo in War, and the solo/tapping in ALITS) and it was phenomenal. I’d love to see them use more pedals :stuck_out_tongue:

Most bands are like this anyhow; there’s always a front man who’s usually the person who started the band that brings most ideas to the table and the rest of the bandmates contribute in their own ways. Nothing to be worried about guys haha
