7th studio album announced

ATS was definitely a great album. Perhaps it would have been more memorable had Linkin Park released a heavy album after MTM rather than another album a bit more on the softer side (ATS).

ATS and LT are extremely underrated by most people; all the people I know who like LP (but aren’t hardcore like us :P) only like HT, Meteora, MTM, and THP :/. They’re both absolutely brilliant albums. I wish they’d get the acclaim they deserve :frowning:

Anyways, super excited for the next album. Really hope its on the softer side!

You’d be surprised at how many “hardcore” fans do not like ATS, LT and MTM. Some even consider THP a soft album. Personally I think THP tops HT, it’s that good to me.
I’m not a huge fan of LT and MTM, they’re last in my list, but they’re good, they have powerful songs, like for example Little Things and HHH, which I consider two of the best songs they have ever wtitten. I wouldn’t say underrated though, less known/preferred to listen to yeah.

I personally love LT cause the lyrics really spoke to me at the time it came out and its what made me a REALLY hardcore LP fan lol. It was also just so unique and interesting I love it.
I hate those “fans” that think HT and Meteora are the only good albums…

Well, they can like whatever they want. What pisses me off is when those fans ditch the band and call them names etc just for changing their sound. I mean, LP had the guts to do it, those fans didn’t even have the guts to actually listen to those albums. I simply refuse to accept their opinion because they can’t have one since they haven’t listened to those albums… otherwise, I’m fine with fans admitting they didn’t like them and sticking just to HT and Meteora. They’re honest at least compared to the others.

I mean the people who violently hate LP for changing their style and stuff. Hate those people

I’ve been listening to Linkin Park, claiming it was my favorite band, for like ten years now. It doesn’t stop. However, the one album that is quite odd overall is Living Things. I enjoy listening to most of the tracks, but Burn It Down is too…hmm, electronic and upbeat, almost like the sun in Teletubbies growing up a little and getting into EDM.

Hmm, maybe that a a bad comparison. Give me a break, I’m pretty tired…

Burn It Down is like a different electronic version of In My Remains

THEY ANNOUNCED TOUR DATES FOR NOV THIS YEAR-WHEN WILL THEY MANAGE TO GO INTO THE STUDIO? I think, if they go to the studio, one by one or even one together with mike, it would not become that spirit as if they go to the studio all together, manage their probs at firt and then making crazy genious musik together, I wish they go in process with each other… :fire:

@KarL_LewiS Me too!

@Tenkaichi BID is like the most mainstream song LP has at the monent for me. Not even Numb has fallen into that category, it still remains that Meteora anthem, where as BID is just THAT song to get you hooked for a while.

@The_early_walker Well, it’s not like they haven been in the studio all together even since Living Things. Lately it’s just Mike says, band does. Mike has been bossing them around a lot lately, I feel it’s gotten too much and that’s why the guys didn’t go to the studio much for THP and it was just Mike and Brad. I don’t know what’s going on between them or whatever, but if taking a break means solving their problems and getting in the same path again I’m down for it. I don’t want another “Mike album”, I want an album all of them actually worked for, like MTM.

I’m really really sure Mike is gonna Busy himself with Fort Minor for real this year. Otherwise why would he get back the fort minor website domain (like I read here: http://www.hiphopshelter.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-fort-minor-possibly-on-the-way.2604/ )

They’re probably working on new material on the road. I mean, didn’t they write the entirety of QWERTY on a plane headed to a show? I could be wrong but I believe that’s what happened with it. Still, I’m sure they’ll be working on at least concepts for the next album while on tour.

They did yeah. They’re always writing anyways. I’m just concerned from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like all 6 of them are willing to do certain things anymore. And it feels like they’ve lost some interest, like they do need a break.

As for FM, I seriously have no idea what’s going on. In a recent interview Mike stated that he hasn’t worked on any new FM stuff. I’m just assuming he will do something for the 10th anniversary later in the year and he’ll need the social media.

I think they’re all still interested, but keep in mind that all of them but Rob and Phoenix have families now so they can’t always be in the studio. Especially Chester since he’s got a whole bunch of kids :stuck_out_tongue:

From all the LPU TV stuff for THP so far, it seems like theyre still interested but all of them can’t always be there at once.

I think a break wouldn’t hurt them at all though

They all have families, sure they spend time at home. Plus, we all know Mike is a workacholic so, the studio is his 2nd home lol. I don’t mean it that way though. It just seemed to me from the videos from the making of THP that the other guys just went in to record their parts, with the exception of the day Page went in. Dunno, I hope I’m dead wrong and nothing’s up.

Yeah, I feel like a break is something they deserve, considering all this touring etc.

Perhaps Mike feels much more possessive of the band since it’s become a phenomenal hit, and has aged since its inception.

He is also the lead creative artist, which if any of you don’t know what that’s like, it’s a very leadership-like position. Maybe everyone is comfortable with Mike having the reins so that they all can spend more time with their families and respective projects. (i.e. Hahn’s directorial career, Chester’s side stuff)

By families I meant like a wife and kids haha I know Rob and Dave got families :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t worry about them not being in the studio all at once. From the videos of them on tour they seem to LOVE being apart of the band, especially the periscope plane video from the other day. They probably were all busy during the making of THP. Also THP was self produced as I’m sure you know and they might not have felt the need to all be there at once since Mike and Brad handled the production and stuff. With Rick Rubin I’m sure they all needed to be there since he was acting as sort of a guide for them.

Who knows, but I wouldn’t worry about it. They really would benefit from a break though…especially since Chester is in STP now.

I am struggling to keep I’m cool this is awesome. I never want this journey to end. LP for life I’ll never stop being a fan!

Haha, I know. But Dave aslo has a wife and kids, Rob I believe is in a long term relationship as well, so technically they all have time to give to others

Yeah, I’m not questioning their loyalty or friendship or whatever chemistry they have going on between them, that’s damn strong for sure, just saying they may have gotten a little “not so in the mood” for it lately.
But indeed, we can’t know anyways. A break would be nice… I’m not ready for another album anyways, I feel like it’s too soon!

Oh my bad I thought Dave and Rob were single still xD didn’t know Dave got married.

And yah it is too soon for a new album
