Now that u mention that, I can’t imagine Chester not dancing.
Hopefully nothing poppy. Nothing that makes you imagine Linkin Park playing a concert for 13 year olds that listen to mainstream radio, all while glitter and colored smoke flows through the air.
Yes, that sounds fantastic! And then they can all put on their care bear onesies, and Chester and Mike can do dance routines
Maybe Chester can even do the whole concert on a pogo stick.
This is one of the best videos ever!
Personally I’d LOVE if they made a more intimate and personal album that’s upbeat and energetic. Not electronic but like upbeat guitar riffs with hopeful/inspiring lyrics and lots of melodies and harmonies (when Chester and Mike harmonized on THP, mainly Rebellion, I got chills the first time I heard it like omg).
Basically a softer alt rock album would be amazing. They’ve done enough heavy stuff I think. Making heavoer songs than THP would just make the album obsolete in my opinion…
I really hope they go in that direction, but any direction they take (as long as its not EDM) will make me completely happy!

THIS, THIS!
It would be perfect. Still making rock, but more mature, beautiful etc.
I love Mike+Chester harmonies (Rebellion, DTB or a part of MTG). Harmonies + beautiful instrumental? Holy shit!
I’d love more gang vocals like on Iridescent.
Recently I’m listening a lot of atmospheric post hardcore, post rock/metal, ambient etc… Instrumentals in this type of music are fucking beautiful. It would be nice to hear some music like this on the next album. Post rock instrumental + gang vocals or Mike+Chester duo? Woah, I can’t even imagine that
Mark the Graves…good lord that song gives me chills and I legit cried the first time I heard “no trace of what remains…” like the harmony was…unbelievable. Same thing with the chorus! I love singing that song and playing it on guitar too its so fun
Anyways, I’ve been listening to 30 Seconds to Mars a lot recently and they have a similar style to what I described. If LP did something like that, except obviously different from Mars since LP is LP, I’d LOVE it!!!
Just imagine an album full of songs like Iridescent, Mark the Graves (the high parts, not the screaming), No Roads Left etc except more upbeat and hopeful…
…I think I’d die from happiness
Or a song like Drawbar with lyrics…
Like, a soft alternative power ballads record?
I don’t know if I’d like such an album (I’m thinking Living Things here as an example, do correct me if I’m completely off).
Like I’ve mentioned above, I don’t care what it is as long as they stay away from EDM music but I’d also like it better if it was a bit heavier or at least had a few heavy songs on it. I highly doubt they’ll follow that path again though.
Yup we need to hear some ‘hybridity’.
We need to hear a bit of Chester’s screaming, a bit of Mike’s rapping, etc. y’know what I mean. that kind of thing.
Not so much like LT, more like the stuff from A Thousand Suns, mainly Burning in the Skies, Iridescent, and Robot Boy, but more upbeat and hopeful.
I know Mike’s rapping is a sort of “staple” of LP’s sound…but I think they should do a lot less of it. I mean don’t get me wrong, its good stuff, but if they’re trying to go in new directions I think Mike should sing more. He’s got a good singing voice; he sounds phenomenal on In Between, No Roads Left, Castle of Glass, etc. Instead of rapping and screaming they should try singing differently or something.
That being said, I wouldn’t mind an album with rapping but I’d prefer if they did something new. The rap started to get old for me after LT…it just seems so…immature…Idk lol
Ok, I hear you. ATS is my most favorite album so yes, I’d love another one like it. (though I’m sure LP won’t do it and a lot of fans are gonna freak out lol).
I want to see Mike sing more, his voice has gotten so so much better than the early days I’m actually stunned at how good he is now. Then again, rapping is his thing, where he comes from, and personally I love it, I think it defines him perfectly. Like the humble, kind, down to earth guy that has this wild rapping thing going on… it’s just part of who he is and I’d hate it to see it go away completely.
Not completely get rid of rapping, but like the way MTM handled rapping; there were only two songs with rapping in it. Both are amazing and I love them, but I think Mike should sing more is all haha.
ATS is my favorite too. Its sheer genuis
Mike can rap all he want in his next Fort Minor album.
I really like Mike’s backing vocals here:
@KarL_LewiS No, MTM had too little rapping for my liking, though he killed it on No Roads Left lol @samuel_the_leader But FM is a completely different kind of rapping… Yes, his vocals were amazing on that one!
ATS is the greatest album I can imagine, exspecially the mixture, burning in the skies, iridiscent, robot boy, not to forget Blachout, uncounted great hymnes, that are at least telling about my lifetime experiences… Kind of this coulured with some accoustic parts like the messenger from ATS that´s what we need
