Xero

Probably worth mentioning that Mark Wakefield’s responsible for SOAD’s Toxicity album cover
O.M.G. Do not google Grey Daze, you gonna see a lot of gay pictures … what the fuck [surprised]

EDIT: They played much more than 3 shows, it was 12 and the last one got canceled [wink]

Hahaha oh woow

The Line “Top gun, Miramar, the best of the bester” from Reading my eyes refers to Miramar, San Diego, Cali. Miramar was the site of the real TOPGUN made famous by the movie Top Gun in 1986.

used my detective skills to work that one out.

Wow, cool. I like listening to Xero, because it’s the beginning of the most awesome band ever

Well, i can’t be 100% certain. But it makes sense

It started with my me trying to figure out what ‘miramar’ was while I was trying to say reading my eyes really quickly. Quicker than mike. I couldn’t figure out how to say the word, after about 10 times going like… m-mir-… mira… miramar. I googled what Miramar was, went on wiki and found out Miramar has a military airforce base.

“Top gun, mirarmar, best of the bester”

Top gun (where the movie was was filmed, and the real top gun was), Miramar (the place in cali), best of the bester (A line from top gun, “Best of the best”)

Xero is very interesting! I’ve investigated a bit about the phone number on the Demo Tape:

You see, 818-549-9083

This phone number locates me in Glendale, CA.
ZIP: 91210

If you look on google maps, it locates you exactly in Glendale.

This was probably where they were recording their songs (Mike’s bedroom). I know Mike was born in Agoura Hills, but what tells you he didn’t move? :stuck_out_tongue:

FUN FACT! I was at the bar where a scene of Top Gun was recorded before it burnt down :stuck_out_tongue:

You know that the Xero Demo Tape is a cassette right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Tape = cassette just so you know

There are 998 even less. 2 are gone (1 sat on, the other lost in Mail). Xero Tapes the Baby version there are a tad bit more than the Shopping Cart one, but well the Shopping Cart is rarer. I would say probably less than 500 Tapes combined.

Sean Dowdell Tape, I’ve only heard there are 4 known to exist and I own one of them

1 sat on? lol …wtf.

I guess most of the owners don’t know about the value of the tape. so they’re lying somewhere unnoticed.
Hmm, I still think 500 is too many, cassettes are not cheap to produce (that was the biggest advantage of CD’s) as well as the better quality ect - I think their is going to be a lot less then 500
I wouldn’t be any more than 500 made. 100 maybe.

I’d guess not even 100. Probably 50 and less

Don’t forget it was homemade, cassettes were relatively expensive, writing on the tape took a very very long time (they were probably producing about 5 tapes a day).

Succesfull writing attemps were also rare, lots of errors during the writing, poor audio quality… All these factors would probably lead to narrow the number of existing tapes to about 10 (people would have thrown it away, or lost, or simply reused).

10 ones, probably 5 of them belong to someone who dosen’t even know about its value (probably in an old basement / attic) so only 5 remain, probably locked up in a secure place, and one that belongs to Mike

It’s an approximation but I think it would be plausible, what do you think?
