The Tavern - Open 24/7

The only place you went wrong was picking blackcurrant as a flavour. Lol

I didn’t, got these from a neighbour who has an allotment. I wasn’t sure what else to do with them other than try making jam

You could have tried selling them on the side of the road. :joy:

Yes, 850g of blackcurrants for sale - who will buy! Actually the jam tastes good. I don’t like overly sweet stuff.

Wooosh. lol

I was implying that you should go be creepy like those strawberry guys out in the sticks. :joy:

Decided to make some mayo and sweet chilli sauce earlier (great for chips and other stuff). I think it went well.

Steps:

(NOTE: The buying and calculation steps can be swapped around depending on whether you already have the ingredients or not)

  • Buy mayo
  • Buy sweet chilli
  • Buy empty sauce bottle
  • Calculate density of mayo to be ~ 0.94 g/ml
  • Calculate density of sweet chilli to be ~ 1.2 g/ml
  • Realise you’re an idiot
  • Google densities and find your calculations were pretty much on point
  • Calculate masses needed for a 1:1 ratio in order to fill your bottle (just under 330g mayo and 420g chilli for a 700ml bottle)
  • Design and 3D print a custom funnel

  • Go to the kitchen
  • Prepare a scale, tablespoon, small bowl, large mixing bowl, a whisk, the empty bottle, the funnel and a power drill.
  • Measure out your ingredient masses using the small bowl and scales and then pour them into the big bowl.
  • Stick the whisk in the drill chuck and get mixing.
  • Once evenly mixed, use the funnel to pour the sauce into the bottle.
  • Job done!

Here’s a timelapse I shot. :joy:

Sorry about the vertical filming, my phone mount was a cup. lol
