The smart questions thread

No one else comments.
So, I got two minutes into it and the whole making of it annoyed me that much, that I stopped. Not even curious who this guy is, they are talking about.
With that kind of production I can “proof” what ever I want.

I’m with you on that. Only got a minute in and it feels like this is a part 3 or 4 of a video. I have no idea what they’re really talking about as there’s no context.

ITs on the child abuse/child trafficking Epstein/inner elite circle deal as it seems to be lately
I actually watched it all but to be honest the only reason it annoys me is that it feels self righteous, like a cynical person pointing out flaws in society for no other reason than to be heard
Maybe some truths in there but idk

Well you have to watch the whole thing to get the point, but if it really is that unbearable then never mind

Does it bother you?
Sorry.

If it is about child abuse/trafficking than I am actually happy to not seen it.
To know or not know change nothing on the situation.
But it hurts me, so I stay away from all those horrible stories. Do the mine I could in the small parts.
:hugs:

Well I thought the video made a fair point, but I understand that the subject or the view points of the narrator can be quite unusual. I’m completely disgusted by the abuse thing too, but I think it’s important we have to face these dark aspects of society in order to get rid of them.

If you mean by this education, knowledge, free press, I’m totally with you!

If you mean it for me, personal, I disagree.
I am not strong enough for all this shit that happens in this world!
I would loose against it, not survive.
And I don’t even feel bad about putting me first, skip all this horrible stuff.
Me breaking on it, does not change this world.
Love does, kindness does, staying in for things in my direct environment does, know were to put my vote, to inform myself were I put my money…
And my job does too. Grazing sheep in nature conservation areas. Writing a blog about pasturalism, support groups like Federal Association of professional shepherds, European shepherding network or slow food does. But there also only in my ways. Can’t sit in this fighting against each other meetings.

If everyone does something in his way, then it is good!!!
I love this forum as place full of love.
A hug for you, if you like.:hugs::heart:

I get what you’re saying, this is not a topic to take lightly. And yes, everybody has to do the things they think work best for themselves. I’m not saying you in particular should delve into it 100%, was just trying to make you more aware of the subject.

Hugs back :hugs:

If air was denser than water, but remained a gas, would we have oceans for skies?

I don’t think so
Hydrogen bond between water molecules are not as strong as the ones in the gas
Plus, the composition of oceans is quite different from air composition

What are the purposes of dreams. Are they mere entertainment for the subconscious mind who never sleeps? Or are they tools to process emotions and interactions in gentle storytelling? Then what of nightmares. They are not entertaining or useful therapy. If anything, they can add to anxiety.

And what of dreams/nightmares that subtly alter our choices because they were so vivid and emotive? They can change our minds and make us more willing or more cautious. Dreams that become stories or songs or new products and actually merge into reality. But only those that the subconscious allows us to recall.

Don’t take my word for it, but didn’t scientists say that they’re just a by-product of neural activity and have no real purpose?

Idk
I have troubles with my dreams.
When I was a teen, I read a “science” book about dreams and kept a dream dairy. The more you concentrate on your dreams and write them down immediately after awakening, the more dreams you remember.

But I really never found them in any way helpful.
Dreams are more torture to me.
I dream very vividly.
And some nightmares are recurring. Like tsunami horror, even with my kids.
Or jumping out of bed in an head start cause there are snakes under my blanket.
And sometimes the “good” dreams are even worse. Turning reality into my wishes and then awakening is the horror, realising that it all was just dream pretend.
So I decided to not dream anymore.
And it worked for a few years.
I’m not that striker anymore, so I start dreaming again.
Last night, I had to go over a frozen lake, the ice wasn’t really thick and I was totally afraight. It was windy and bitterly cold.
All really real. :confounded:
Feel free to interpret this :joy:
And I was cosy warm in my bed.

Good question! I’ve been exploring this topic as well and I think I’ve found some answers by reading the work of Carl Jung and Jordan Peterson. I’ll try to explain the basics, but I encourage you to look into their material for yourself for a better understanding. They suggest dreams are manifestations originating from the collective unconscious, and their function is to inform us about our inner thoughts, emotions, struggles, etc. Ultimately dreams can be of use to help us in our personal development, but in order to understand them and learn from the messages we have to analyse the symbology that the dreams present.

No idea, but psychologists like Jung beg to differ

This method is also important in Jung’s ‘dream treatment’. It’s obvious that the more details we remember about the dream, the better it can be deciphered.
