well i guess already your not really into the same music as me

How in the world do you go from listening to music like that, to listening to Linkin Park? Lol. In no way am I dissing your tatse, I actually happen to enjoy Asking Alexandria. But just caught me off guard. Such brutal metal bands (especially ABR) and then you’re on an LPU message board.

As for the OP, I’m pretty damn sure Manchester has Pandora. Type a few of your favorite bands in to that and then I can almost guarantee you you will have more artists to listen. Hell, that’s how I found out about Asking Alexandria.

Try Avenged Sevenfold, they are awesome.
I also like Eminem, Phil Collins (but only a few songs), Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Fort Minor, Gorillaz and the EP of Spiritfall (yes, they are the real performers of ‘My Reason’).

have you tried listening to lostprophets? their songs sure are pretty good, especially those in their latest album  or david guetta, perhaps?

Point Taken. But, I saw ABR at Warped Tour this past summer, and the tore the place up. 6 people puked in the middle of the pits from getting their asses kicked. Quite funny.
Suicide Silence has kind of lost their impact on me. They are falling in too much with other bands of their genre.

ABR isnt that brutal if your enjoying SS or Emmure! heheh:p but hey, LP is here to stay and im hardcore LP fan forever. Over the years my taste got wider and harder.

funny that your talking about the pit, yesterday i was checking out a local band for their EP release. Loved the HxC moshing, got few small ouchies :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe Stone Sour, too.

I really liked the Metronomy track. I’ve heard a song or two of there’s and they’ve been good.

Phantogram sounds like Little Boots, or rather the lead vocalist does. It’s not bad, but the linked song didn’t grab me.

Flying Lotus sounds similar to early
Cinematic Orchestra
work.

But I’ll certainly check Metronomy on Amazon. Thanks!

Aavenged sevenfold, Dream theater, bullet for my valentine, rise to remain, atreyu, slipknot…
Some of my favorites are Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, a few 30 Seconds To Mars songs and I do love old school hip hop like Beastie Boys, Wu Tang Clan, N.W.A, Run DMC and Cypress Hill.

Hope those help ;)
After listening to a few Alice in Chains tracks, I think I may track down their Greatest Hits if it’s cheap enough. Thanks!

I just checked this band out, and discovered Vodka and Roll

HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

System Of A Down?

I’m not so keen on Ax7 and Atreyu. Dream Theatre are pretty good, I like Octavarium :). BFMV is good (although I’ve not heard much of their more recent stuff). I like Slipknot too

Anyone who doesn’t like Bounce is dead to me :stuck_out_tongue:

Maximum The Hormone sound great :D. I’ve just listened to What’s Up People? and Zetsubou Billy (which is freaking kick ass). They remind me of MadCapsuleMarket a touch.
Okay so… let’s start from that you like Linkin Park. Then you have probably heard KoRn, System Of A Down… and similar bands. I love japanese music, so I’ll give you some japanese rock here: first off the GazettE. They are singing in Japanese, but they are awesome. Its a matter of taste of course, but I love them. Then exist?trace. Five girls from japan, making a mix of scream-ish music and like… calm soft music. Also singing in japanese though… xD Then this band, you have eventually heard them… Dir En Grey. Some japanese, some english. Love them.
So hopefully you can survive listening to at least ONE of those three wierdo bands ;D
I checked them all out, and none were bad, but I rather like exist trace (especially this)

I must laugh… how could I recommend a band to someone from Manchester, who is a LPUer, when the only two bands in the whole world I really listen to are SMITHS and Linkin Park?

Actually, there was a time my greastest wish was to live in Manchester. But now I know better - I wish I was born there… [wink]

Well I’m not from Manchester (I’m from Blackburn), but we have a good taste in music

I have too many favorites to name, I’m currently on a Rise Against high, though.

The Used, Relient K, Foo Fighters, Silverstein, Metallica, System Of A Down, Adelitas Way, Green Day, Three Days Grace, Janus, Cage The Elephant just to name a few

So, I’ll try and list the not so obvious stuff I like.
(Also, i really wish i had speakers - I’m at work- because i really really want to try all of these, pariculary the spanish and japanese groups mentioned above)

Kenna, (liked the New Sacred Cow album a lot)
Mois Dix Mois (japanese)
Mike Oldfield (the original Tubular Bells, I loved that too)

electric:
StereoHeroes
Danger
Cosmic Gate

heavy stuff:
Dark the Suns
Gojira
Eternal Tears of Sorrow

Anyone who doesn’t like Bounce is dead to me :P
