Recommend Me A Band

I can’t get into Tasty Snax for whatever reason. It’s fun to listen to, but I don’t really “enjoy” it. Everyone knows Blink (they’re okay, I’ve got Take Off Your Pants and Jacket - which I quite like). I enjoyed Billy Talent during their “Try Honesty” era, but I’m unfamiliar with newer work.

I’ve never heard of Ling Toshite Sigure though. Are they Scandinavian?

[quote=Zara]Yeah the second album didnt grab me neither, I just listen to The State of Things. I’ve made a note to buy music from these The Kills, Foster The People, The Naked And Famous, Fleet Foxes, YACHT, I think I heard them on spotify or something, can anyone vouch for them?

Im sure you know about coldplay, and you should give The Coronas a try (especially their album Tony Was An Ex-Con)

No, Maximum The Hormone and Ling Toshite sigure (alternative name is Rin Toshite Sigure) are both Japanese bands. Maximum The Hormone is a very good metal band, but probably not everyone’s kind of music (well, I love them  ). Ling Toshite Sigure is a softer band, but not less awesome. They’re very technically, but their melodies are very catchy and their two singers have some good, individual voices. Try this songs:

Maximum The Hormone - Buiikikaesu & Zetsubou Billy
Ling Toshite Sigure - Disoc Flight & Telecastic Fake Show

Well I have some more bands for you

Bump Of Chicken, Veara, Pezz (well they’re actually BT), Dir En Grey, Sum 41, Skillet, +44, Dramarama, Anti-Flag, the GazzettE, Good Charlotte, Angels and Airwaves…

I can’t get behind most of that, and haven’t heard of a few more, but I can definitely recommend Sum 41 - Chuck. Definitely their best album creatively, and probably their most important. I really wish they had sold more copies of this so their label didn’t force that Underclass Hero bullshit on them.

I’ve seen Sum 41 live a few times. Their earlier stuff is pretty good. Not keen on Anti-Flag (I don’t like much Punk, unfortunately). And Good Charlotte / Angels & Airwaves / +44 aren’t my cup of tea so much. They have the odd decent song, but on the whole, not so exciting.

I’ve seen Sum 41 live, too. I pretty like their older stuff, in particular songs like Fat Lip. But nevertheless, their new songs are great too, and I have to admit, they’re a great live band.

Okay so… let’s start from that you like Linkin Park. Then you have probably heard KoRn, System Of A Down… and similar bands. I love japanese music, so I’ll give you some japanese rock here: first off the GazettE. They are singing in Japanese, but they are awesome. Its a matter of taste of course, but I love them. Then exist†trace. Five girls from japan, making a mix of scream-ish music and like… calm soft music. Also singing in japanese though… xD Then this band, you have eventually heard them… Dir En Grey. Some japanese, some english. Love them.
So hopefully you can survive listening to at least ONE of those three wierdo bands ;D

I LOVE SUM 41! Their sound is pretty interesting. Not all albums, but “DOES THIS LOOK INFECTED” is a really epic one. Love it. I had my chance to see them live here in Sweden but I didn’t have any money. xD lull

Yeah I agree. They were on before SoaD and … Metallica I think. I was like “Oh, Sum 41. They’re okay.” Then they played a live set with some rather nifty guitar riffs, and it converted me.

My other favorite band is The Black Keys. They are mind-blowingly awesome! I’ve also been listening to Tennis, Scattered Trees, Minus the Bear, Neon Trees, and Crash Kings.

Here is someone that I think is really good! Mary Courage
