Recommend Me A Band

So, Amazon is my best friend, and I buy far too many CDs. I’m always out to discover new artists so I’d like to see what you listen to. I’ll give any genre a try (I’ve got Andean Pan-Pipes, Swedish Opera, German Punk, Trip-Hop, Folk, Blues - pretty much everything).

Anyone that says “Linkin Park” is getting flagged for spam!

Fire away

Have you heard of the band Linkin Park? They’re pretty good.
30 Seconds to Mars, also very good.

Maybe give Metronomy a try? If you like trip-hop, I can recommend Phantogasm and Flying Lotus. I can go more random if you want.

Some of my favorites are Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, a few 30 Seconds To Mars songs and I do love old school hip hop like Beastie Boys, Wu Tang Clan, N.W.A, Run DMC and Cypress Hill.

Hope those help

Hi!
I can recommend you, though maybe you know some (or all) of them already: Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, the first CD of My Chemical Romance (the 1st, and maybe the 2nd, not the others and most surely not the last one), Five Finger Death Punch, Hinder (not too sure about that one), Mägo de Oz (in Spanish), Melodica, Oasis, Nickelback, Queen, as WhenThCome4Me said, 30 Seconds to Mars are pretty good too, The Fray, Eminem, The Beatles (of course) and The Rolling Stones… Also, the OST from the movie Queen of the Damned is very, very nice!
Hope I helped you!

Hi Bob! Listen to the band Hollywood Undead, this is a very good band!!! Especially listen to their album “American Tragedy”!

I’ve got Hollywood Undead’s first album. I checked out a few clips of their second, but didn’t rate it too highly.

I’ve got Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, Oasis (hell, I live in Manchester, it’s mandatory), Queen, Eminem and The Rolling Stones in my CD collection. I’ve got the QotD OST too (I have a rather nice collection of movie soundtracks). I kinda like Hinder too, but I’ve never heard of Melodica or Mago de Oz so I’ll have to give those a try later.

I can’t really get into 30STM for some reason. They’re not bad, but at the same time, I’ve never thought “Wow!” apart from a cover they did of Kanye West’s Stronger.

Thanks

I like Rise Against (Reeducation Through Labour is awesome), and I’ve lots of 90s Hip-Hop like those (especially Beastie Boys) you’ve suggested, but thanks

Not sure I’ve really checked out Alice in Chains much, so I’ll rectify that

I’ll check those out later. I think I’ve given Metronomy a whirl before and thought they were okay, but haven’t heard of the latter two. Thanks

Just go for ‘Poets of the Fall’. Rock band from Finland formed in 2003. I’ve following them since 05’. Awesomeness.

They are quite popular now. Albums to look for ‘Sign of Life’, ‘Carnival of Rust’ & their latest ‘Twilight Theater’.
I’m saying albums because all their songs are good. I still can’t find one weak song from their entire discography.

You like Reverend and The Makers right?

Hari, I love Poets of the Fall! However, their more recent albums have been weak compared to Signs of Life and Carnival of Rust. Their CDs are also bloody hard to get hold of in the UK. I had to import one from Australia! But thanks

Yup! I love The State of Things album. Not struck on their second effort though, even if The Rev is legendary!

Yes first two albums are the best. And Revolution Roulette was not up to the mark but I think that twilight theater has lot of improvements. And you are right. Their CDs are very hard to get. I never found one in any Indian music stores. Anyways I order their CDs directly from their official online store

Maximum The Hormone, Billy Talent, Tasty Snax ;), Ling Toshite Sigure, blink-182 …

Hari, I’ve looked into importing the CDs before, but the shipping kills me >.
