I usually use my laptop speakers (and sometimes when i’m not alone in the room, headphone) but when i buy a laptop, i never care about the sound quality of it. What matters for me it’s the loading speed of my video games (i don’t know if it makes sense not sure of the word to explain it :joy:).

No I don’t use them usually but I need better speakers for video calling for work now so they’re important now. Headphones start to hurt after a while and means I’m trapped.

Please don’t be that spanner on video calls that uses speakers. It back feeds into the system and annoys everyone else, because everyone hears themselves echo when they speak. Just invest in a good pair of over ear headphones or a pair of in-ear buds (with the silicone domes).

I usually use my earbuds or headphones when I’m on a video call or listening to music on my laptop solely for the reason of not annoying the rest of my family. :joy: Also I’ve noticed that when I do use the speakers on my laptop the volume is mad low, even when on full. I have considered getting a wireless speaker, but haven’t pulled the trigger on that tho.

Can’t say I’m too bothered with sound. My laptop speakers are alright for the occasional random video/YT thing I watch. 9 out of 10 times though I wear headphones. If I listen to music through Spotify or whatever, my laptop or phone are connected to bluetooth speakers, otherwise it’s through my record player which has its own set of proper speakers. When I’m on conference calls/video meetings I wear my earphones, simply because my headphones are too bulky and it feels weird.
Playing music is different, I have a set of studio headphones purely for that, I only connect them to my piano and guitar.

This is why the original question said, when you have the chance. The twat that listens to their device on speakers in an area full of people (like on a train) needs to be slapped upside the head.

That’s because that’s the one thing Apple can actually do properly, good laptop speakers relative to all the other trash out there. :joy:

I’m curious, what do you run?

Everyone uses their speakers generally but mine aren’t working as well so I use headphones. No feedback problems.

True. I guess I misinterpreted. My wildest story was once back when I was a freshman living in my colleges dorms some dude brought his laptop into the restroom, into a stall, and just started watching a movie on it for all of us to hear while he did his business. That man was an empty husk, no shame left whatsoever :joy:

Now this is what I call market research! And if they’d done this correctly, they should’ve concluded a long time ago that one cares about laptop speakers :joy:

Honestly, I’d rather laptop manufacturers took the time to make them modular and run from PCIe like an old fashioned sound card, that way you’d perhaps be able to swap them out for SSDs (provided the speakers are big enough in the first place), or have them be replaced by extra battery somehow.

Yes! Sometimes less is more

For all the tea drinkers out there, how long do you brew your tea bag for the perfect cuppa?

  • Less than 1 minute
  • Between 2-5 minutes
  • Leave the bag in!

:coffee:

On the rare occasion that I drink tea, I don’t time it, I just look at the colour and guess. :joy:

A darker colour normally needs at least 2-5 minutes

Yeah, I figured as much. lol

Speaking of, you guys explain to me why on bloody earth you add milk in your tea?!

I don’t, I just do sugar. Milk is a substance that should come with a biohazard warning. The same goes for peanut butter, that stuff is vile. :joy:

I don’t give it any chance to brew. I drink it as hot as hell.
(I can’t imagine milk in my tea, by the way. Nor sugar)

There are so many different ways of making tea. Indians always add milk and also sugar. We don’t have black coffee here. We add milk in coffee. We get a packet of coffee powder to which we add to hot milk and stir and sippppp… Then there is green tea, lemon tea, ginger tea…all without milk.
