Personal Projects

It’s not skill it just takes a bit of thinking and use of logic.

So can we discuss anything here?.. (just asking…)

How was your day … except the unfortunate thing?

are you saying that I can be like you? Impossible! :joy: you can do this complicated stuff…

Yes you can be like me.

Pretty boring.

No weekend plans?

I appreciate your words… very much… :hugs: but you do very complicated stuff…with electronics and fire! You’re so great! Difficult to reach your level… :hugs:

The flamethrower is not the least bit complicated. It’s just 2 servos operating a lighter and deodorant can.

Still duds flamethrower was your original idea… that was great… its one of my favorites

I’m thinking of designing a monopoly set next. There definitely won’t be a physical build but I think it would be interesting to design.

Yeah! Do it! it would be absolutely interesting!

I made a start shortly after my last post. So far this is what I have.

The main board is pretty much done, I might add a couple of more things later. I had to get creative with how I represent each property and its price considering there are no letter and number pieces (and I don’t like stickers).

I’ve finished all the money, avatars, dice and house and hotel pieces.

I’ve made a start on the property cards.

And I’ve made a start on the chance and community chest cards:

I’m yet to make a base for the board with all the storage compartments for the cards and pieces.

EDIT: The time is odd in one of the pics because I forgot to do the dice when I made the post.

Have you ever tried designing something similar to a prosthetic? Something all lego would be neat to see
One other, have you done anything with 3D printers? I’m looking forward to having access to a lab at the college but just being built

Unfortunately I don’t have access to a 3d printer. As for prosthetics I could give it a shot. Though I’m not sure how soon I can start designing as I go back to uni tomorrow.

Yeah I brought it up cause a guy in one of my classes had already been familiar with the 3D program and had designed a Batman gauntlet and was waiting to print it lol
As for the prosthetic, it’s more an idea for you just because it would challenge you haha and I’d imagine it would require more technic than classic parts or some of the more specific pieces

I never had that… Does it prints exactly same?

Not really, it’s a box frame basically and on the top it has a little gun on a rail system that allows it to move and point directly above any point inside
The printer heats a material like plastic and squeezes it out in the design that you have created on the computer
It starts at the bottom and works its way up kind of like doing a little slice at a time until it reaches the top of the 3D figure you’re making
They’re really expensive but I’ve seen people make some really cool stuff on it
It’s kind of like stacking hot glue on top of itself once it dries

One of the classes I’m taking right now is designing objects in 3D either to model or print something out but at this point we’ve been redoing lego pieces lol I’ll upload a screenshot next class but just haven’t because there isn’t much to be proud of yet  we’ve done some of the cross bars or things like that for now

That’s also nice… you’re learning rn and soon will be making great stuffs like @the_termin8r :slightly_smiling_face: So at least i got an idea how actually a 3D printer works … thnx! It isn’t available here… very rare… i mean really very rare…

That’s right
If things go well this time next year I’ll be starting a job in residential design :grimacing:
