"One More Light" Mega-Topic, Out Now!

I do love One More Light as an album. However, it doesn’t have the distinctive Linkin Park sound that me and my parents can recognise. It is something I can listen to in the future but it will be something that will be polarised VERY much by the fans.
In fact, Mike tweeted that people who like OML often say that A Thousand Suns was their favourite album. ATS is my favourite album because of the concept behind it and the message. The Catalyst is my favourite song along with One Step Closer and I often class these as the anthems of LP if they are interested in learning about the band.

Rating of OML - a solid 9/10. It is not a 10/10 because of some of the sounds that they put into the song “Sorry For Now” that lets it down a bit. But, keep going Linkin Park!

I feel like he’s said this (they’ve) so many times already in their careers that it’s what has Chester so fed up
It’s the same people giving crap about ht during every single cycle and I think they’ve explained it through so many angles that at least he doesn’t want to keep repeating it
I agree this music is personal to them and probably adds to him taking offense to things and I also do agree he has some diva thing to a degree but I think that comes with the territory he’s in, they all have to be sure of themselves or they’ll get eaten alive
Anyway, I don’t take offense to anything they say if only because I respect their creative hunger, and because anyone who will stand up and stick to their guns on any subject earns more respect than someone who folds (at least in my book)

Did the OML experiment work? Does it get any airplay on radio stations?

On my regular radio channel at work I hear In The End and BTH quite often, but nothing of the new stuff.

And it is a pop/rock channel btw.

Its between Good Goodbye and Nobody Can Save Me. I know they’ve been making music for a long time and they have Mike as producer, but imo I wish they had one person outside of the band to really string and push these songs together. Plus pop album or not, it sounds like they were trying a new.

After listening to albums from Adele to Ed Sheeran, I was a bit disappointed by how most of the songs were executed. When I listen to a simple song like from Lana del rey, I really feel the words despite their simple melodies. But overall I enjoy most of the songs. Sharp Edges was a delightful surprise. And OML stabs me in the heart…repeatedly…:slight_smile:
