"One More Light" Mega-Topic, Out Now!

Sharp Edges … Best song on here. Can not stop listening.

OML is a close second.

This whole album is so addictive now. Sharp edges is really growing on me and I love talking to myself. The more I listen to the other songs, the less I like heavy even tho it’s catchy. Not that heavy is bad but the other songs are so much better.

Battle Symphony was just a promotion single but not an ,official? …single to get a music video,
Invisible will get one at least.

@wingsofdeath I also like the album and I got excited with it, what I hate is to become a bit nostalgic too. I know this new music is what fits better for the context and lyrics, it was very nice done on its own line.

But I also start to miss the pure LP atmosphere on their music, like this one as a good example

Anyway, One More Light is so good, the only thing that confuses me is the way how Chester has been acting lately by the critize people during this cycle. But maybe is just me lol

It was a good one, even though the stream’s audio was bad and Dave was too high in the mix.

This album is not a fantiastic album like their other 6 albums. It’s good, but not quite fantastic. It’s pop/pop rock. That makes it so it can’t be an fantastic album. The lyrics are amazing. Overall the album is nice listening to. I do feel that Kiiara, Pusha T and Stormzy drag the album down a bit. ‘‘Heavy’’ would be so much better if it was a duet between Mike and Chester. ‘‘Good Goodbye’’ could’ve had some sick rap verses from Mike. Another thing about the song, is the way Mike raps his verse, sounds just like rap music today( rap music today sucks) The lyrics of his verse are good, it’s just the way he’s rapping. In the song ‘‘Invisible’’ the chorus is a little bit stale, when he only sings the word Invisible over and over again. The first and second chorus he sings Invisible just 4 times. that’s fine. but the third time he sings the chorus, he sings it 8 times, which makes it sound a bit boring. The nananan part of ‘‘Halfway Right’’ is also a turnoff. Especially because that’s how their demos sound before they get words to them. Which to me, makes it feel like it isn’t finished. All the baby voice parts in the album also is a bit of a turnoff( just a little bit) cause it makes it sound just like all pop music today. That is also one negative thing about the album. Their 6 other albums sounds so uniqe to anything else that’s out there. This album sound very much like todays pop music. like it isn’t a uniqe album. That was the beauty with LP. there were only two things you could expect from the band. 1. They change from album to album. 2. Their albums are uniqe to anything that’s out there. One More Light dosen’t sound uniqe at all. Their 6 other albums are 10/10 albums, OML is a 6/10. -1 point for being pop in general (the one genre they should not do) -1 point for not being a uniqe album. -1 point because of the guest performances. -1 point for all the baby voice parts in the album. Overall it is an enjoyable album, It has great lyrics, But there not that much special with it.

Really??? Huh, didn’t know a particular genre couldn’t be fantastic just because…

It’s my opinion that it can’t be a fantastic album because it’s pop. OML is good, is jst that because it’s pop, it doesen’t have quite as quality as any other genre. Pop music today is generally crap. There are some nice ones, but the majority of pop music is the worst music that’s out there. Of popular music. I just feel like because it’s pop, it drags the album a bit down.

It’s like saying that The Beatles suck. Wow.

I don’t know, for me this album is definitely on top of any other album they made. May be ATS is very close to it, consider the fact that ATS was my favorite album before OML. I was expecting something like OML right after LT, however, we got THP which kinda confused me. Anyway, I’m glad it’s here, right in time.

We’re all entitled to an opinion. But to call an entire genre bad because there are good and bad songs made in that genre is like saying Italian food is bad, because you’ve once eaten a bad pizza.

It’s not my favorite Linkin Park album, but honestly it’s not because of the pop sound. The band has made pop music before. I’m still convinced a lot of these songs will sound a lot better performed live, that’s where the band is at their best.

Sorry to say but I think we’re getting the response Mike predicted.

I think we’ll find out this week, what’s the real response to the album. I hope they never ho back to like older sound - I’m sorry, I don’t have a lot of anger and problems in my life, so I wouldn’t like to listen to HT2. However, what’s going to happen if the response to OML is going to be the same or even worse than to THP?

Why do we all talk as “will be” or “its going to be” when the response is already going on?

I just don’t get it.

The response is different from everybody, however, I’m waiting for the sales data😂

I think it’s gonna do good personally I actually expected a worse reaction… and anybody notice how Chester snapping?? lol it’s honestly great but he should be careful on his choice of ways to say stuff. But hey he’s fed up can’t blame him too much .

I also hate people who twist his words… they say he’s going to punch whoever doesnt like their new sound which is… incorrect … he doesn’t care you if you hate it he only cares if you think ther doing it for money or popularity (selling out) … I hate when people twists words of others to make it sound worse than it actually is…

Me to I don’t know what we’ll see

Ikr, when someone does that instead of share the original quote it not professional, it looks like if you have a personal problem with too so you feel the needing to make him look wrong for everyone.

Now that “special” group of people is going to feel more entitled to say Linkin Park “spit on their faces” for not make more music for their exclusive tastes…again
