What’s everyone think of the official heavy remix?nicky Romero remix
Honestly, I kind of like the remix a bit better than the original. It’s a lot more lively, although I admit the drop is a bit annoying.
But the tempo and pacing of the remix feels a bit more natural, and the beat here is actually pretty well done with the claps. I’m not usually a fan of trap beats but this one works surprisingly well.
I do miss having the guitars in the mix, but to be fair they weren’t really prominent in the standard mix anyway so it isn’t even all that noticeable. It is kind of sad that the remix has a more interesting dynamic than the original song, considering this is a six piece rock band!
The percussion is easily the thing that carries this remix, but it at least provides the song with the bombast and energy that the lyrics and melody demand to be presented with.
The keys take a step into the background so the percussion and vocals can have a bit more prominence in the mix, but they actually did go through a nice change in this mix. It actually sounds like it might take effort to play this in some spots.
But as previously mentioned the drop is kind of obnoxious with the pitch shifted vocals. And how did Cheater’s vocals get even more buried in the mix when the guitars have been completely erased from the song?
Overall, it’s a good remix. The drop is the only part I don’t like. I kind of wish they gave Mike a verse in the remix in place of the drop, because I can see him putting some interesting bars over this. But hey, I can still see myself listening to this more than the original despite the missing elements.
That was actually a good interview, I think mainly because the dude’s a fan.
Side note:
I literally just found out if you highlight text in a message and hit reply is quotes it…yeah I know, I’m slow.
Will, in my opinion, it’s not that creepy.
Thanks, always wondered how.
My favourite part is how Mike tells him to record random sounds and convert them into synth tones like he did with Lost In The Echo and many other songs.I really admire that from him and them, that any sound you find in their songs were literally made by them with tools or any toy.
Sorry if its out of topic but I always wanted to point out this about him.
Also after that interview with Brad about the songs and guitars I am again more interesed on hear the album to see what they did. Personally I have good enough ears to tell all that lol.
Can’t believe is less than one month left.
I need an energetic music video from LP now. NOW!
Edit: I revisited the song Good Goodbye. Though I still maintain the view that it is not the song I would like to play, the lyrics seem to say goodbye to people like me who are waiting for a heavier song from them. Well played LP, well played.
I know it’s not on topic but I want to share what I’ve got over the past few days. Unfortunately, I can’t upload my photos for some reason but I’ll tell you what I’ve got:
The Minutes to Midnight CD and DVD having the making of minutes to midnight, what I’ve done video and the making of the music video.
From the Inside - Linkin Park’s Meteora.
I would like to thank my parents for getting these rare items for me since I’ll be having my exams in a few weeks time so wish me luck!
This is why we have the nifty thread; to avoid flooding the others with random stuff.
I assume we can expect a huge tour announcement this week since they told us about renewing our memberships! And I hope it’s blink but I dunno we shall see!!
I think the album was meant to be released much later because that way, we can get used to the new songs and style in the meantime. So when it comes out we already had threw up our opinions, if we got upset, if we needed time to digest it and reflect/understand better about this new route and how meaningful it is for the band.
That’s what I think. Im already fine with it. Leaving aside their past work for a moment, its a good chance to appreciate this new project.
Agreed, I honestly think a lot of the hate is due to fans simply not being used to such a drastic change, especially after something heavy like THP. If this album were to be released after ATS or even LT, I doubt there would be this much controversy
Btw, I just noticed that the last time Mike sang lead in a song was in Minutes to Midnight on ‘In Between’; nearly a decade ago. Or maybe you could count ‘Rebellion’ as well when he sings the chorus near the end, but nevertheless, it’s got me even more hyped to hear the new songs.
Oh yeah Im also excited again lately. Keeping in mind the route of all this and what we’ve heard already makes me wonder how the other songs will be. Im curious to hear Mike sing too, by how he did in that acoustic version of BID I bet he’ll fit perfectly in this style. Even more than Chester tbh.
But again I can’t wait for its release and me listening to it once I am not busy that day.
Hi to everyone.
I know that the album isn’t out yet, but I afraid that they do the same that they did with THP: Short version of the songs in live
Has somebody think that it going to happen?
There is a good chance they’ll play Heavy, BS and GG. Mike has said in an interview that they’re playing 5 new songs, so we’ll see about the rest
5 new songs? When? at the special release show in Las Vegas?
In general, on this upcoming tour.
someone is pissed
hahah
That article seems clickbait-y. Barely anything is actually said before it asks you to pay money to view the whole thing.
These are probably the same type of people that said this after Living Things, and then didn’t care whatsoever about The Hunting Party.
But I am curious if reviewers are getting the full album already, because that means it’s probably going to leak soon if that’s the case. Although, for all I know, that guy could just be basing this review off the three released songs, there’s no way in hell I’m going to pay to find out.
I think hes just talking about the three songs.
Also, 22 days to go.
