"One More Light" Mega-Topic, Out Now!

I’m excited to hear anything new, but we have 2 months left and only 8 songs we haven’t officially heard. I don’t want half the album out before May, especially considering the is their shortest album so far

Why did they have to keep the release date so far away?.. this is a lot of waiting.

Yeah I also hope this is true. Thats how they should actually write lyrics imo.
Also,I am happy they took notice of my question on the ask us anything chat. Although, the answer was not good enough but I guess thats all they had.

Btw, it’s actually not the shortest album. The shortest album is ATS - it has only 9 songs, and others are interludes
So 10 songs it’s pretty good)

Do we know that this is 100% without interludes or instrumentals?

We do not, however I highly doubt there is more than 1 instrumental, if there even is one

I don’t know. I’m sure that there are no interludes on this album. We basically know that Heavy, Invisible, Good Goodbye, Talking to Myself, OML, Battle Symphony, Sorry for Now are full lenght songs. When Mike was asked what songs he likes he also said that Nobody can save me is also one of his favorite. It leaves us with 2 songs we know nothing about, and one of those songs can be an interlude, but I doubt it.
However, I’m kinda curios about Sharp Edges (the last song) because it’s the only song LP said nothing about. I would put OML at the end of the album - but it’s me😀

For those wondering about when the 3rd single will drop, there’s a theory that it will be April 18th because:
Heavy released February 16th
Battle Symphony released March 17th
One More Light releases May 19th
Fill in the missing gap with a third single on April 18th, and you got a perfectly planned release schedule.

Quick question, does audio quality differ between iTunes and Amazon?

it all depends on what type of audio file you’re buying. For example, FLAC is higher quality than MP3.
If both websites sell the same format, there won’t be any difference.

If the rumours about Stormzy are correct, then April 18th would be “Good Goodbye”

Honestly, I don’t mind the instrumental. But the main melodies and the structure of the song should be more exciting. The more I listen now the more I like it. But it isn’t their best.

Right now, I expect I’ll like this album more than Living Things. That felt more like a sellout than any of this material does to me

OMG! I also heard it on the radio today to. But the weird part my family was like what in the world are you listening to. They did not even know it was Linkin Park.

Why do people HATE Living Things so much? It’s my favourite alongside ATS!

I personally think that it’s a shameful attempt to get their old fans back, and that caused the album to be either forgettable or just outright bad. Like Until It Breaks, the most insufferable song that Linkin Park have ever released, and the unforgivably atonal delivery on Roads Untraveled, although I think the lyrics are great on that song. I will forever read it as a poem and forget that it was ever a song. It’s just a boring album with very few unique or good songs, but I do like about half of it.

I guess that’s subjective to each person. For me, I think it is their strongest album (with ATS too).

All music is subjective. What I find boring and unoriginal another person might find a masterpiece. That’s okay, and perfectly normal. I just personally wish Living Things never happened.
