Yes! This is how I feel exactly! That’s why I feel like it’s kinda one dimensional. I feel like they wrote it and left it. Usually Linkin Park does a great job of adding little sounds and ear candy on small little sections of the song to keep the song interesting and fresh throughout (“Waiting for the End” comes to mind as a perfect example of that). This song sounds like a DJ recording playing through with Chester singing over it…I’m missing the layers. There’s nothing there to keep it interesting. I understand that they stripped it back to keep the lyrics and vocal clear, but I also feel weird about how Chester sang “Battle Symphony.” I know he’s has some kickass vibrato in his repertoire and knows how to sing melodically. I also know Mike does a great job with harmonies. I feel like this song needed some inspiring harmonies added to the mix along with letting Chester SING OUT!!! I feel like he’s holding back and keeping his voice straight (except for the parts where he does sing out which is the best part of the song).
I got the song 5 minutes after it came out 
I still actually didn’t get a download to the new song. I’m going to assume it’s because I placed my pre-order like 4 hours before the emails would have sent out
How can you download it? I got the email but there are only links to get it on music apps and stuff

[spoiler]I just can tell you there are some interesing layers of sounds in this song like electric guitar, bass line, jingle bells like the ones when Wastelands ends, and the ones of Welcome by Fort Minor along the song . Also the drums I can hear Robs plats and I guess the main beat was made by them, they had some interesing tools and different Kind of drums in the studio too. Besides the synth on the chorus and bridge, there is another one slightly present on the second verse Wich reminds to Living Things.
That plus the main louder drumming and Joe’s sampling[/spoiler] That’s why I think the track here was beautifuly made unlike Heavy. That’s my opinion of course

I don’t think we were supposed to get a download of Battle Symphony with the pre-order. It didn’t say anywhere that we would get any song (other than Heavy) earlier.

I watched all the Ask Us Anything videos Chester and Dave did the other day. They said some interesting stuff (including plans for the US tour, for those wondering).
I’m still not 100% sold on this new direction but with what they’re saying about the songs, I’m definitely eager to give them a listen.
