I think it’s gonna grow on me, definitely. But right now it’s average
No screams on the album huh? Jesus, what is going on here?
They went from The Hunting Party to this? Huge disappointment. Heavy isn’t good at all, it’s just a generic pop song. Chester is not a pop singer, he’s much better than that. I really hope the rest of the album is better.
What my family (also fans) said to me after hearing Heavy:
Mom: Terrible.
Dad: It’s horrendous.
And my brother and I had a whole conversation about how much we dislike the direction they went in.
Every single new album everyone goes “this album isn’t like the last one?” despite every album being different from the last. If you even look back on the Internet Archive, people complained about Meteora not being like Hybrid Theory
Let me just say how much I loved their little unplugged session. I’ve been wanting them to do something like this for years… my mind was blown when Mike sang his rap part on BID; the guy’s singing has improved a freaking TON! It was so so so good!
I did like the acoustic version of Heavy quite a lot as well, take Kiiara’s parts out, add Mike’s backing vocals instead and you have a beautiful song!
Yeah, but every album before this was at least rock, metal,or something similar to it. I’m sure the majority of LP fans would rather that than this mainstream pop sound…
I like it, it was a grower but I like it. I don’t know how they do it but each time they bring something out I can relate so easily to the lyrics. The facebook live was awesome too, Kiiara has an incredible voice.
I loved the live stream. And I like the song, I don’t care that is sounds like pop. It could have had a more LP styled sound though. I’m sure the album as a whole will contain many more different influences and sounds than we’ve heard on Heavy
Joe’s hat… He’s Raiden from Mortal Kombat.
Everybody so calm now on every forum. People have no words to describe their feelings I guess. Seems like the train of hype stopped a little bit😄
Hype train crashed because Heavy disappointed a lot of people. What I said earlier was just my first thoughts. I haven’t had much time to listen to it, but I’m going to do that in a little bit.
Well, we can only wait for the next single and a video for Heavy (if they’are going to do one). I hope they will announce some shows in U.S. soon
I think most of us are judging this album slightly too quickly and I don’t mean to say that maybe this song will grow on us (because for half of us, it probably wont) but lets look at it from a more pragmatic approach. Linkin Park want to promote their album and after their label messed up the promotion of the last album, their new approach was a possible radio hit to get their whole name back out there and let people know about this album. There is a reason this was chosen over the other songs, it had Kiiara in it and was supposed to be as ‘mainstream’ as possible to promote the album. Im sure the rest of the album is intended directly for the LP fans.
In ATS, Waiting for the End was as pop as this. Minus Kiiara, and minus the guitars (maybe in this song, we probably can’t hear it) it is pretty much as pop as Waiting for the End. Even A light that never comes.
Except Waiting For The End was a musical masterpiece, not a generic radio song.
Some ppl say thats the last LP album.
Don’t believe them, LP would have said so.
that’s not the last LP album they would have said so, and the zayne lowe interview he said there will be more of course
The song is good, decent, but its weird to see “Linkin Park” on the title yet haha.
If they decided to take the pop way, they could choose more than the basic sounds and beats, They know how to add their unique sounds, beats samples etc, but I cannot identify this as a song by them, not yet…
I’ll wait for the second single to see If I want to buy the album, I hope there is more content at least and does not make this sound as a simple EP
Cmon Linkin Park, I know you ignore people when they are not 100% agree with your choices but I also know you could and still can do something better and original for this album
