LPU CDs sold out - WTF

I’m an aussie too, i stayed up til 6am for it, totally worth it, feel like the luckiest person in the world.

Just wanted to say thanks to Adam & everyone else up at LPUHQ for first of all giving this amazing offer, and secondly for trying to deal with the rage afterwards. You guys work hard and it wouldn’t be easy, so I just want to show my appreciation.

I really think that we should all be just a tad more affreciative of what Adam and the rest of LPUHQ has done. I understand that it’s frustrating to want something bad enough to wake up early for it and then not get it, but at the same time at least we all had this oppertunity. If you think about it, 90 people just had the happiest surprise of their lives, do you really want to take away from their happiness by complaining and starting problems? And what if all the complaining has made Adam and the rest of the guys never give us another oppertunity? Does anyone really want that? You win some, you lose some. I find that if you go in with the “I’m probably going to lose but I may as well give it a shot” mentality, you’re not so dissapointed when you lose out. Especially when there’s only 90 iteams.
For what it’s worth I also have a theory on the cart issue.
My dad works with computers/servers/electronics/etc so I have a little bit of understanding of how it all works. If you have say 1000 poeple crashing the site at once and clicking “add to cart” the website is going to do what it is programed to do, and obligingly add the iteam to your cart. That means that 1000 people think they have the bundle in their cart. However, when you click “check out” the page and server reset, and only the first 90 people who clicked truly have the bundle, making it seem as though it dissappered from your cart. That’s the best I’ve got.
Anyways, thanks Adam and everyone at LPUHQ for giving us this oppertunity. I appreciate it.

[quote=StanleyElite][quote=Adam]We had 50. They sold out. Not much we can do about it. We have what we have. Our entire stock of HTEP’s is almost entirely gone now.

And when we see backlash like this when we tried to make it as fair and reasonable as possible (we easily could have auctioned them or sold them for $100 a piece for JUST HTEP), it makes me not want to do this kind of stuff anymore.

[quote=LPA Hybrid]I got the first 4 years of the LPU CD’s with my first 4 year’s packages. /trolling.

how fast was that o.O

As Adam correctly pointed out, this was advertised as an extremely limited sale that was expected to sell out in less than a few minutes…and that’s exactly what happened. All of you can sit here and complain about the people who “refreshed constantly” or bought another one despite already having one, but you would’ve done the same thing in their shoes. The reason it sold fast was the 50 dollar price tag. Try selling a re-issue on eBay right now. The reissue alone will fetch 100 dollars or more. Doing a random contest wouldn’t have solved crap as there would STILL be whiners claiming it “was not fair”. The LPU did fans a service by giving everyone the SAME chance to get a rare CD. It happened fast, and it was expected to happen fast. Don’t throw the LPU over the fire when they didn’t even have to put these up for sale. They did you all a favor, and cause a lot of you didn’t get the CD (which you knew would happen cause of the “limited” status of these orders), you’re chastising them. That’s not right, nor is it fair. Hate me if you want for this post, but I’m on LPU/Adam’s side with this.

^^ This. Adam took the time and actually put these up for sale by the demands of some fellow LPUers. He did mention it was extremely limited. And yes, EP’s and most of the CDs on the bundle do pick up outrageous prices because of rarity.

Scumbag Linkin Park fans: Demand release of the last of the rare CDs. Complain that they’re too rare.

An option for the LPU and future fans who will never have this chance: make more CD’s like Songs from the Underground. They can have the same old songs, but the tracklisting and album cover design ensure that it’s not the same as an HTEP.

Having an EP from when I first joined the LPU and having the LPU 2, 3 &4 CD’s from when I got them from my 2,3 &4 packages, I’m glad that these were not going back in production and was relieved even more when I saw that they were “leftovers.” These were just as special when they came out as they are now. If they went back into production, not only would they decrease the collectibility, but they will also become less special. Please, LPUHQ, do not think for one second that more of these CD’s need to be pressed. Keep them special.

I agree with this 139%.

I don’t agree with all of you, but thanks Adam for giving us the opportunity. But I still found it to be unfair as I’m from Sydney Australia and I was logged in 5mins early and it stated that it will be on sale from 11am PST i was there at 11:59 refreshed and the item was already sold out.

i don’t believe that is fair, i think this an act of god or the server. But thats life ill just go on ebay and buy the 1999 release which is on sale now for $100

I managed to get a bundle. I already had 3 of the 4 CD’s, but it’s nice that these ones are sealed (And they’ll stay that way).

Hey mate, I’m from down in Wollongong and I managed to get one. Just one of things that is down to luck unfortunately. I still reckon this was the right way to do things, and I know that might not mean much coming from me, but I truly believe it was the way to go.

And that link to the Hybrid Theory EP original on ebay, do you know if anyone has been able to verify that it’s authentic? Seriously keen on making a bid but want to make sure it’s the real deal first.

It’s authentic dude, trust me, I know alot about this stuff, but I think people will be more reserved and bid at the last seond to win it. It’s not a “Red” Malaysian fake. So take it from me a Long time collector

It’s as simple as that.

Nah, $380-480

Sorry, but what are you all talking about. I saw the 1999er HTEP on Ebay for less money:
21 GBR Pounds
45 US Dollar
Anything wrong with that items?
