Hello friends! I am doing a class project on fandom and I chose to focus my project on good ol Linkin Park fans such as yourselves. I know surveys suck, and I cant really persuade you to fill it out other then it would help me out immensely. 11.3 I was never disappointed in any album but the change in style in A Thousand Suns did catch me offguard at first but I soon came to love the album just like all the others

  4. Because I can relate to the lyrics, because I love the music and the experimental music a lot, and Mike and Chester sing very good!

  8. There is only general admission at concerts for me, and as close to the stage as possible!
  9. Violent jumping at concerts can be a bit annoying and also when people cut in front of you at concerts or when they smoke even though it’s not allowed.
  10. I’ve only been a member for a few months, but I’ve known about LPU for many years. As a European (not from Germany) it hasn’t really been “worth the money” to be a member, but this year I thought to heck with it, and hopefully the money will be worth it. :wink:
  11. I can’t choose, but I’ve always had a thing for Mike, so I guess him.
    11.2 They treat them very well!
    11.3 Nope, I’ve never been disappointed, but been progressively more happy with each album, so I’ve only become a bigger fan of the band throughout the years.
    11.4 The lyrics have helped me through tough times in my teens, definitely, and I still use LP to provoke certain feelings when I need them to.

8 months; I became LPU so I can benefit from the only-members-can-get things like being the first to purchase tickets or LPU store… etc

11.3 Were you ever disappointed by one of Linkin Park’s albums? How did it effect you as a fan?
I was first disappointed in ATS because when the Catalyst was first released, I expected a really good album that’ll have similar song and thus I stopped listening to ATS for about 2 months except for the Catalyst but then I gave it another shot and I really liked it because of the lyrics and different styles in each song. shockingly, I started hating MTM album because I consider it now a very soft (maybe oversoft) album, nevertheless, No More Sorrow is in my top 5 LP songs of all time

11.4 How do you relate to Linkin Park on a personal level?
well, I think we share our hate to war and violence

at least 5 hours a day maybe, IDK, I listen to music all day

I have a friend who only listen to Hip/Hop music just to listen to BEATS. But now, he always says that I’m the reason he listens to Rock music now. His favorite LP song is Somewhere I Belong >> this song became special for me because of my friend

  10. I’m a member thanks to the trial code to be a LPU in a whole month, but, before, a friend gave me a LPU membership for a month, too. So, it would be like I’ve been a member for 2 months. Haha. I’m really a fan but I never could pay for LPU, maybe some day. 
  11. As musicians, I don’t have any favorite. About personality, I like Chester - He makes me laugh and I love when he makes Shinoda smile or laugh -
    11.2 They’re good with that thing. It seems they’re always able to chat a little, let fans to take photos. They don’t act as superstars, That’s good.
    11.3 No, I’ve never been disappointed. Maybe I just like some albums less than others, but never disappointed.
    11.4 I must say that I have know many friends thanks to Linkin Park. I’m a fan who has grew up with the band, and been a LP fan isn’t like a hobbie for me anymore. It’s like a habit, part of my daily life (I have a forum about LP).

  2. When my big sister listened Hybrid Theory in my home when it was released. Because of that I’ll always remember intro of Papercut :D¨

  4. I can relate to the lyrics, melodies are amazing also the way they mix things surprises me every time. And when you combine these things, it is something awesome that any other hasn’t done. Or that’s my opinion [biggrin]

  10. I’ve been a member since june 2011 after LP played here and I was there. The show was amazing! At first, the reason of joining was the chance to meet the guys but now there is other reason: LPU’ers are so nice and awesome people from everywhere and I can speak about LP with them without boring anyone. LPU is so awesome thing! :smiley:

    11.2 Couldn’t treat better. No complaints!
    11.3 I’ll have to admit that after I got hooked to LP, it was through HT and Meteora. Then I listened ATS and I’ll to admit I was disappointed, but it was 'cause I was like “everybody says it sucks and if you’ll liked HT and Meteora, you don’t like ATS.” But when I heard Rob saying that you have first forget what LP sounds like and then listen the album. I did that and I was blown away! I don’t know if it has affected my fandom in any way besides made it stronger.
    11.4 Very much. I remember when I first time listened Hybrid Theory and really listened it,
    it felt like they sing about me. It was something that I’ll never forget!

  13. Nightwish is my other all time favorite band! Besides them Within Temptation, Pendulum, Billy Talent, Evanescence. Apocalyptica is also good.

I have been listening to music for about 16 years, big part of my life.

I saw their video for One step closer when it first came out and that was it for me, I was hooked

I love them all, but I would have to say Mike because of his creativity and his attention to fans. He seems to go out of his way to make us know that he appreciates us

No other band treats their fans the way Linkin Park does. How many other bands do you see putting on summits? Plus, they do not charge fans up to $500 just to meet them, which makes me so angry that artists exploit their fans like that. It makes me love them even more.
You can tell that they do as much s they can to show their love for their fans, no one else compares to their level of devotion

11.3 Were you ever disappointed by one of Linkin Park’s albums? How did it effect you as a fan?
I am more disappointed by some fans and their reaction to their “old” vs. “new” sound. I love their music. Period. Yes they may have changed their sound, but over the past 12 years, have you not changed in some way? Thats how I feel when listening to Hybrid Theory up to A thousand Suns, it’s a huge timespan in between albums, their tastes were bound to change along with their music.

Started listening to them the same time I started listening to music (4 years ago), but I didn’t really get into them until last October, so 7 months.

They have awesome songs with meaningful lyrics that have helped me through a lot of rough times. And the members are funny, they care about their fans and they do charity work. And overall, they just make me feel happy again.

Their music was there when no one else was for quite a while, and it’s still the same today (sometimes). I’ve realized a few life lessons from LP that I take to heart everyday. They’re my first ever favorite band I’ve had, and I’m grateful for that.
