If I understand how to combine verbs, nouns, etc, it would be easy make sentences for me…compared to people with complete different language…
The accent is difficult, but I’ll try to not be confused…
But I believe in you. And I know that you can…take your time… amigo mío
¡Gracias!
I’m a female…but don’t worry…I have to say this to almost everyone here…
Lol… lo siento. No sé porque pensé que eras un chico… I’m embarrased… I still believe in you! ¡¡¡¡Amiga mia!!!
don’t worry! It’s because we didn’t talk so much, so it doesn’t show… here in the forum it’s easy to misunderstand… lol… yep! ¡Amiga!
I go sleep now… I have to do a lot of things tomorrow… but I would like to learn italian someday… it 's a pleasure to help all of you
Love you all
Have a good sleep full of sweet dreams! See you!
Thanks @merydiaz added to my notes
Yeah i don’t even Know S of spanish
What’s that now?! lool
Amiga means friend (female)-amigo means friend(male)
Mia means mine
Amiga mía=my friend
Oh thanks amigo mía
O oh! Bad teachers assistant!
Mia=mine(female)
Mío=mine(male)
So I would be “amigo mío”
I should have included that in my initial explanation
Aww it’s okay
The gender is important in spanish. If you get it you can make complete sentences.
First of nothing, thank you very much @merydiaz for that explanation about the “Vosotros/vosotras” I must be honest, I just knew it that those words are use in second person plural.
VERBO SER/ESTAR (VERB TO BE)
The conjugation must be related with:
*Grammatical Person.
*Gender (Male or female.)
*Grammatical Number (Singular or plural.)
*Grammatical Time (Past-Present-Future [For now.])
It’s like in English with the verb “to be” but with more variations jaja:
Grammatical Person
In this case I’m talking about the personal pronouns:
I=Yo
You=Tú (the most used), Vos= (In some areas of America) and Usted (Formal Form)
He= Él (With accent mark)
She= Ella
We= Nosotros or nosotras
You=Ustedes (Latin america) or Vosotros/Vosotras (Spain)
They= Ellos or Ellas.
Grammatical Gender:
In Spanish the gender is Male or Female.
As usual the words ended in -o are male.
The words ended in -a are female.
For the words ended in -e you must see the article (more later we´ll see its use and definition.)
For the words ended in consonant, see the last vowel to guide you.
For example:
“Conejo” (Rabbit)
It ends in -o, so it’s a male word.
“Mamá.” (Mom)
It ends in -a, so it’s a female word.
“Llave” (Key)
It ends in -e, so we use the articles (el, la, los, las) to know if it is Male or Female.
Options:
La llave.
El llave.
Los llave.
Las llave.
In this case, the correct option is “La llave”, so it’s a female.
Pantalón (Pant)
It ends in -lón, and the last vowel is -o, so it’s a male.
Grammatical Number:
There are two: Singular and plural.
Singular: One person, animal or thing.
Plural: Two or more persons, animals or things.
Gato (cat): Singular, because we are talking about just one cat.
Perros (Dogs): Plural, because we are talking about two or more dogs.
Grammatical Time (Past-Present-Future)
Past: We use to say things that have happened.
Yo comí ayer. (I ate yesterday.)
Prensent: We use to say things that happen in the moment.
Yo como ahora (I eat now.)
Future: We use to say things that will happen.
Yo comeré mañana (I will eat tomorrow.)
Now, that we see the basic of the conjugation, let’s go to the conjugation:
In English the verb “To be” is conjugated:
In Spanish is:
Verb to be (Ser)
SPECIAL NOTE:
In Spanish is most commun use the next conjugation than the previous one. But FOR ME, it’s a mistake, since that conjugation belongs to another verb (to go)
Verb to be (Estar)
I ask @merydiaz that help us again to fill the area for “Vosotros/Vosotras.”
That’s all for this week. I know it is so much. A lot of things to check out and practice. Any question, please tell us ( @framos1792, @agusdbianco, @merydiaz or me.)
@ironsoldier16 I’m checking it road to work:yum: If I can when I arrive home, I explain it. If you want, you/we can explain artículos determinados (I don’t know how is in english)
