People who think that their Note 7 going off in their pockets is bad don’t know jacksh*t about a lithium battery fire. (TL;DR last paragraph)

This is what a real LiPo fire looks like:

Different angle:

Full video here:

It’s part of a video testing the destructive power of RC lipos in the scenario of a malfunction against things you can put them in while charging to minimise damage. This is a 6 cell, 22.2V, 16,000 mAh (16 Ah) battery was in a bog standard lipo sack, designed to contain a fire, obviously they’re not meant for batteries this massive.

Now imagine this fire, but about 3 times smaller, that’s the sort of inferno I’d have on my hands if my 2 cell, 7.4V, 5000mAh (5 Ah) went off in my house. This is why I charge and store mine in a metal cash box, the box will contain the inferno at the cost of letting out the toxic smoke (if it doesn’t I’d have a grenade on my hands due to pressure buildup if it can’t escape from somewhere, in the case of the cash box it would escape from the small gap between the lid and the rest of the box).

I can’t find the dimensions of the Note 7 battery (1 cell, 3500 mAh) but with some educated estimation I am putting it’s physical volume at about 0.03L, my RC battery is 0.11L and the one in the gif is 1.24L. That means that even my RC battery (which is considered relatively small) will create an inferno that will make a Note 7 look like a matchstick flame. And the gif one would make mine look like a matchstick flame)

My battery has twice the cells, twice the voltage, each cell has 1.4 times the capacity and is 3.6 times bigger in physical size. The one in the gif has 6 times the cells and voltage of the Note 7, 4.6 times the capacity and is a whopping 41.3 times bigger physically.

TL;DR:
A Note 7 battery fire is nothing compared to an RC battery fire, because [read the paragraph above this one].

have you ever thought about using this in Crispy Dog?

Crispy Dog wouldn’t survive this, neither would my bank account, a 6 cell battery easily costs £100+

It won’t let me edit my post for some reason, but here’s a better angle of the same explosion:

The jacket looks better than I thought.

The hoodie? Yes, it’s awesome. I was a bit afraid it would be oversized( when i’ve bought some XXL LPU shirts, they were a bit oversized), but it fits just fine

Nice collection! I like the hoodie :joy:

i also have 3 LPU t-shirts,5 LPU CDs, one pennant(LPU), one band(LPU), 5 pins(one official LPU 16, other are unofficial), one scarf, band photo, LPU16 laminate, 5 guitar pics, beanie, a water bottle. that’s kinda A LOT lol

Oh yeah, what’s up with the missing lpu logo? Are they going to change it to the new one?

Mobile version one? Seems it’s only a imgur bug. Maybe they’ll fix it
And that much of anniversaries? Wow, master

I’m curious why they’re using imgur to host the image. Also curious why I didn’t get that badge for 2011 because I remember posting on the forum in 2011

Help:

It came loose, but screwing it back won’t make the microphone function again.

Could you take a wider shot? I might be able to see what’s wrong.

I’ve been getting into writing a lot lately. Like creative writing. But it kind of sucks because I’m still in high school and, if you remember high school, creative writing is like the least respected hobby there is. And so, I’m so unconfident in it and I don’t want to show anyone because I’m like every high school student who is too worried about what other people think about me. God, being an adolescent sucks. Because you can’t even control feeling that way.

Is this any better?

Ah, they’re headphones. I was having trouble making out what it was in the other pic.

Your problem is that the copper wire leading from the headband to the earcup is broken. My advice is get a new pair. A repair is not worth the trouble.

Not headband. Look again.
