Ideas for the next chat with mr.lp

Hey ! [biggrin]
My friend Schlabbermampf and me think that it’s sad, how the chat with Mike Shinoda passed off.
[idea] So we thought about ideas to make the communication easier the next time:

1. Less people! [confused]
Maybe just about 50 (?) fans, chosen by the next month’s giveaway.
We don’t imagine us fans to be disappointed because in the end it’s still something special to have the chance to “talk” to you. And this way we have the chance to be heard, too.
Maybe all the fans could see that video later in LP(U)TV…

2.LPU-Forum [cool]
All we fans write down our questions in a special topic in the forum.
And you (Mr. LP) choose that ones you want to answer to. Maybe you just reply instant in the same topic. This way you have time enough to read the questions and to think about your answer. And all the fans will still feel involved…

3.Fans, work on yourselves!!! [exclaim]
We should think about that one question, we want to ask and not just spam the chat with any unnessesary words or songtitles… Every LPer and we’re sure, the fans too, have better things to do than reading words we’ve all already read!
It’s just not social to act like this…aspecially when you have the chance to finally talk to your favourite band. For some people (Mr.LP + Fans) it still really means something and we shouldn’t be treated that respectless…

If anyone else has some more ideas, please write them down here![biggrin]

I think this is a very good idea, the forum with one of them reading it is probably the best way to get questions answered. They could send you a message with your answer so you dont have to scroll through multiple pages.

You obviously have no idea of how a chat happened back in the days.
What you’re asking is simply amazing but it simply won’t happen. Everyone’s having issues since they changed the chat when X launched and nothing has been done since then. We can only hope that with the launch of 12, the good old chat will be back. (Though, I highly doubt it).

@EvoOba: hm, maybe you’re right, i am also just member since LPUX. so please tell us what changes exactly happened between the old and the new chatroom, that makes the new experience so different.

First of all, it was NOT a video chat. It was a text chat. Bummer you may say but, the chat was actually moderated and the minute Mike or Chester or whoever was doing the chat got online, no one was able to type anything. It simply went with alphabetical order. The mods told you which letter was next and those people were only allowed to type in a question which was first viewed by the mods (to make sure, it was a decent one and not “are you coming to my country”, “marry me”, “show us your kids” etc) and then posted them for everyone to see and the band member replied. Each letter got like 4-6 questions passed and then moved to the next and so on. It was much more organized and fun!
I know a lot of people love the chat now (myself included) cause it’s video capable and it’s way easier for the band member to reply to as many questions as possible but it’s crazy! You can barely read what everyone’s typing and it’s all nonsense and crap questions with the exception of just a couple.
I’d love it if we went back to the moderated, alphabetical order chat with simply adding the feature of video.

Not sure I ave enough knowledge of these things to comment, but great someone thought of starting this thread as I know a lot of people were frustrated with the last chat. Simple is sometimes best!

Agree. The chat was a chaos and I when everybody starts asking it becomes one huge flood. Even if a memer can send a message per minute you still get 600 member/60 seconds = 10 messages per second. It is impossible to focus on that.

i had no idea it went like that back in the days but that is my exact thought on how i think a chat should be going
so its fair for everyone

that way there will be no spam and everyone can get something done

why the heck did they stop with that way of doing it
yeah video is great but comon…

oh and i also like the idea of us fans posting our questions on the forum
perhaps then we can still have a video chat but a muted one so no one can type and we just listen to one of the guys answering our questions … which they can read off from the forum then

omg im so jealous
i wish i were fan back then already so i could of enjoyed those chats as well

the staff from this website and the other people around LP should really think about this for real…

It will only work if Tiny Chat give moderators more control of the chat room, which is very unlikely to happen. TinyChat is the best that we have found to work on the platform that we have, so we are stuck with it, even in LPU12.

As far as limited numbers for chat, that would not work. Everyone paid the same as you and deserve to have the same benefits as everyone else.

The LPU-Forum idea is good and bad in my opinion. It’s nice because it would be quicker and easier for band to answer questions, but the chat would still be spammed. And since LP would just be answering questions from a sheet, it kind of kills the whole, " chatting with the band " experience. You could just get a vid of him answering the questions and that would be the same.

Hi,
I also think its a good idea to have less people in the chat, 50-70 chosen members. It would be so much better, and people would actually get to ask a question.

Yeah, THIS.
It’d be great if the chat goes back to the moderated one that Eva talked about…maybe adding the feature fo the video that is almost the only good and fun feature in the current chat…

The idea of us posting all the questions on the forum before the chat, to avoid spam (and consequent lags), can be great in my opinion…
