Nice trick with the Edit, can do too:
As soon as I am home, I will save at least my files. Way to sloppy with this.

No, the irony was about lecturing me about still being up when she’s an hour ahead of me and still up.
You’d be surprised how quickly space fills up, especially if it’s not just programs. I’d say go for 512 minimum, but ideally you’re best going for 1tb.
EDIT:
Just had my first BSOD while reinstalling Photoshop Elements. I’m not looking forward to getting back to using this thing like normal. The OS stability dropped off the side of a cliff with the last 3 or 4 updates. It actually used to be semi-decent.
Sit-rep:
Just when I thought I was out of the abyss, I get dragged back in. I just got BSODed twice in the past 10 mins. Right after I finished reinstalling all of my software. Now it’s telling me my laptop doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!
After I get this sorted I’ll have a few hundred GB of games and Spotify music to redownload. Once that’s done I can go and start re-encrypting my drives.
EDIT:
Right, I sorted out the Bluetooth issue. After a lot of messing around with drivers, I went into the BIOS, disabled Bluetooth and then re-enabled it and it seemed to work. I’ve got to sort out some uni stuff, then I’ll go about redownloading my Steam and Spotify libraries.
EDIT 2:
Just started re-downloading and reinstalling my Steam library…all 316GB of it.
EDIT 3:
All games are now done. Spotify is the only thing that remains (for later today), after that it’s just re-encryption.
I thought you don’t have Spotify premium?
Do you recommend it now?
I decided to keep it (at least while I still have the half-price student discount). The ads were driving me up the wall. Would I recommend it? Def not, if you want Spotify, stick to the free version on the web player and just refresh over adverts. Paying full price for permium is not worth it. Not to mention the phone app is broken AF.
Day 5, ~3970 Spotify songs. Bring it on!
Jesus fucking christ, W10 is one relentless motherfucker that just wants to see me dead. It’s like fucking Skynet, dropping a nuke on it did more damage to me than it did to it. I’m still re-building my defences and it has its next attack lined up and there’s literally nothing I can do to stop it, I’ve been backed into a corner.
4 more updates just lined themselves up, I went into the settings to delay them, delay is greyed out and unavailable. I edited my group policy, it needs to restart to take proper effect (theroetically). If I restart, I let through the updates.
The motherfucker had this attack planned and it made sure to defend itself, made sure there’s jackshit I can do about it. I now can’t restart my computer. This thing is fucking unkillable.
At this point, I just feel like it wants to humiliate me, just to add insult to injury.
really out of words by now
I have to out-smart it somehow. I will have the last laugh…up until the next attack.
Go offline
Going offline won’t make a bloody difference, they’re already downloaded.
Yeah that sucks
Ikr! W10 starts anytime and we can’t even delay or stop the updates! It’s too annoying when someone has an important task to be done fast. It takes lot of time to update.
My bro is trying to put Snapdragon in his laptop again.
I’m assuming you haven’t been following the shit storm over the past 5 days. It cutting me off while I’m doing something is the least of my worries.
So he’s trying to buiild a toaster or a potato? Why would you put a mobile phone CPU in a laptop? How would you do it in the first place? You’d need to design the entire PC from scratch.
Sit-rep:
Spotify is finally done as well. While it was downloading, I was digging around for a way to circumvent the update and restart/shutdown option. I think I found something. I’ll back up my files now and try it when I’m done.
Pray for me…
I just had a motherfucking heart attack.
I’m back in now, I’m praying to God (despite this entire sitaution proving there isn’t one) that it remains relatively stable. More to the point, my update controls are still disabled.
Holy crap man
Maybe you’ll get yourself a Linux? I know I’ve been saying that for a dozen of times but the situation is a clear proof that W10 is BS
Yes, and I’m locked down to W10 because of the software I need. I have no choice.
