Well, I guess everybody has their own way of waiting. I still haven’t fallen into temptation but i’m counting down the day’s and i listen to Burn It Down (and the remix) daily [smile]

I amlost always give into the Leak. Plus it is not our fault someone at itunes screwed up in our favor. I have had LT preordered for months now, two copies i might add(hardcopy and digital). I give into the leak but I also support the band finacially when the time comes. Im the same way with the rest of my favorite bands. I also support bands by going to their shows. Most concerts tickets range from $30-$80. So if you think that I am a bad fan think again.

Ive followed Linkin Park since the begining when I was in elementary school (Im 21 now) Hell I even have a Linkin Park Tattoo. Their Music have helped me get through so many challenges in my life and LT has continued to do the same.

As for Living Things as an album, IT ROCKS. Compared to the other albums, it ranks third in my list, HT-M-LT-M2M-ATS.

Lost in the Echo- Great Opener to the new album. Shinoda comes at you strong with his rapping throughout the song, followed by Chesters smooth vocals in the chours. Then of course during the bridge, Chester brings us his amazing screams that continue to the end of the song.

In My Remains- In My Remains opens up with a melody that makes you feel a since of victory(at least to me it does). This song continues with smooth vocals from Chester along with Shinoda’s( similuar to his vocals in No Roads Left from M2M).

Burn It Down- If you have not heard that yet, you have been under a rock the last month.

Lies Greed Misery- Heavy beat mix with techno. ( this one is still growing on me)

I’ll Be Gone- This is where it starts to slow down a little ( but in a good way). They have VIOLLINS in this? It is amazing how well the strings worked in it. One of my favorite tracks.

Castle of Glass- Is different and very good. Shinoda’s smooth vocals continue in this track. Track starts off a little slow then builds up to a good finish.

Victimized- I felt victimized after hearing this track. It starts off nice and relaxed with shinoda, then chester straight up hits you, and hits you hard. Continued with heavy drums and rapping from Shinoda.

Roads Untraveled- Strongly resembles No Roads Left from M2M mixed with what sounds like bells ringing in the background throughout the song.

Skin To Bone- If you saw “Likin Park Living Things The Story” video on youtube, chester mentions that this song to him had a folk feel. I would agree.

Until it Breaks- Mike starts Rapping like no other in this one. then chester brings in the melody. The song is wrapped up with what sounds like a lullbuy. brings your energy down gently to lead into TINFOIL

TINFOIL(instrumental)-amazing.

Powerless- TINFOIL transistions into powerless seamlessly. Starts off sounding close to Iridescent. It continues to bring the beat up a little and finishes the album off cleanly.

This album is truely amazing. It is a combination of all of the previous albums. Hope everyone enjoys it. Looking forward to hearing everyone elses opinions.

I listened to it few times already and I’m loving it!
Beginning and ending are the best parts! Truly magical. Album is awesome! I didn’t feel so good about it since Meteora.

And for the record, I do support band quite a lot. I collect their CD’s, travel far for them, have seen 8 shows so far, so I don’t feel bad, that I downloaded it. And I didn’t sign up for Mike’s challenge anyway.[biggrin]
The moment I was listening it was magical! Walking in night lights of St.Petersburg and hearing it in my player was truly awesome. Aand I will celebrate with others on 26th.

I gave in, I had a copy calling my name and I heard quite a few tracks over YouTube in unrelated videos (thanks everyone haha) so I thought what the hell. I am still going to participate in waiting for the hardcopy version as I only have a MP3 copy and im a FLAC user (audiophille ftw). I am a collector so I have a UK, US and Japanese copy to open yet anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the album, some of the songs are amazing, some not so good - but as an album I would give it 7/10 simply because I did not like a few of the songs at all. However some are amazing.

Lost In The Echo and Powerless are the big tracks, with Burn It Down and Lies Greed Misery also making an impact, I can see Powerless making a name for itself in the charts - I would not be surprised at all. Overall interesting album, Mike actually broke out his singing voice (and yes it is sexy) and I felt Chester really took a back seat in a few of the tracks - however the lack of a lot of Guitar is becoming more and more apparent in the music, I hope this doesn’t crease tensile situations in the band as the next album revision if it follows this trend will be awesome!

Really the iTunes stream is promotional, not a leak. But as for other things not coming from iTunes, I’m not sure if there are any yet.

holy mother of god this is difficult, I’m not sure how I can cope with this…
I accidentally listened “Powerless” because I saw a video about Linkin Park and vampires and realized after the first 30 seconds that it was one of the new songs o.O so I listened it through and omg I love it SO MUCH !! been listening it the whole day on repeat :3

but yeah, it’s SO HARD to not give in the temptation… and I’m not sure if I can do it. help?

Haha I agree, I decided to give in immediately instead of torturing myself. I loved Brads voice in Until It Breaks at the end. And man, Lost in Echo, what an album opener. Mike Shinodas singing voice is back, that sexy beast.

No the I tunes wasnt promotional, it was a leak that shoulldnt have happened, am I glad it happened, yes because THE ALBUM IS AWESOME, too short, but solid album, but I tunes wasnt supposed to stream it until the 19th, so it was definitely an accidental leak that they took down too late. I cant imagine LP and or Warner not suing the crap out of I TUNES for that one.

Well, I gave in and decided to listen to the new album. Unfortunately, I am not impressed. It starts incredibly strong, but once LIES GREED MISERY ends, it continually gets more and more mellow. Near the end, I was actually starting to doze off. Lost In The Echo is definitely the best song. But for people to say this is the best Linkin Park album ever, in my opinion, is not true at all. Maybe this is because I’ve only listened to it once. But if I had to summarize this album, it would go from hard to boring. Heck, I’d go as far as saying 4 or 5 of the songs sounded the same to me. But, this is only my first impression. I’ll continue to listen to it and hopefully it grows on me.

It is definitely not there best album, I dont know anyone who would say that, HT and Meteora will never be topped, impossible, but it is there best album since then, Minutes to midnight was off track, ATS was different and pretty good but took a couple of listens, this one was really strong for 7 tracks, but yes I agree it is on the lighter side, and chester took too much of a backseat in the album. Overall I enjoyed it alot though and like the direction, instrumental side and Mike is at the top of his game rapping and singing, but it does get a little soft when you think LINKIN PARK. This is just how they have changed though, we saw this since Minutes to Midnight, I dont think we will ever have that Hard core Hybrid theory sound again, but I like the album overall, do not think I will skip but 2 songs, so not bad at all for me.

No I agree, that was my only criticism - it ends really well with Powerless which I really like but after Lies Greed Misery it just feels, unfinished. I have listened to the album 4/5 times now and I like the songs towards the end but not like I have done with all the other albums which I really enjoy all the way through. Nevertheless I am very happy with the new album as a whole.
