Just finished watching LP preform at the AMA’s and I am disappointed. Chester’s voice was off (majorly)…it cracked within the first 4 seconds of BID and he didn’t recover until the end. I really hope the touring is not straining his voice or I hope he’s not getting sick (that’s worse). The last time I heard his voice this bad was when they preformed at SNL and he got really sick and had to cancel shows.
I really don’t think it was that bad. Although I think Brad’s guitar sounded a little different to me than usual (from watching other performances online).
It wasn’t that bad, but it was off a cracky. Sadly he might be getting sick (WHICH SUCKS!!!) because it is flu/sick season. There is a possibility it is touring because they have been touring since May or April!!!
The good news is if it is exhaustion…the next concert is Dec. 8th then February 21st (much needed and deserve break)…but I do worry for Chester because he get sick so easily
I am worried about Chester’s voice - he seems to be finding it harder to hit those notes?
Joe also once again mucked up the ending. How many times does Joe muck up BID?
He was off in the beginning and the voice cracking in the first verse def surprised me considering they’ve been on the road and shouldn’t be rusty. He did recover and I feel finished strong. i will say that he wasn’t high energy as normal so maybe he is getting his annual illness lol. Either way the crowd and other artists were into their performance which was very cool to see and overall the performance wasn’t too bad.
He did seem a little off :\ even when they were accepting the award…
I hope you’re okay Chester
I dont really think it was bad… though chaz seemed a little off but they finished it good… It can happen , he’s also a human after all… hope he’s fine…
The crack in the beginning wasn’t good, but the whole song was off. Definitely also noticed that whatever Brad was doing was odd and didn’t really work. The upside - most of the performances seemed a bit off on the show so maybe it was venue/sound guys/who knows and not LP.
I did notice the crack in the beginning, but after that i think he sounded fine.
The performance was good. Only thing to worry is about Chester’s voice ! I think this touring has made them really hard to maintain health these days. In my opinion they should take rest from all this for sometime and work on next album for few months in a peaceful place like they did during MTM.
Also in AMA performance the music or the bass or beats were much more louder than usual which could make the vocalists to put more stress on their throat to shout more ! (If you see old LP days the Mike’s and Chester’s voice were louder than music being played.).
Take care Mike and Chester
Hear the same. At first I thought it was a defect of the TV or audio of the same show, but listening carefully, I saw that Chester was not very good. Also notice Brad’s guitar, weird. And the end with Joe. It LP, the performance was excellent, just need a break, it was a very busy year. And are human. Another award for our beloved band. Congratulations on that, and take care in this break.

Chester’s voice is ok. I think that his voice is not the best for Burn It Down. It’s what I think.
Yeah, I agree when you said they should rest for a while and they will do that. No shows until February!
Not every day is a good day, for me it was ok.
Chester´s voice failed a bit but for me it was OK, it wasn´t the worst performances :P… I think usually they fail more on TV shows than in concerts

I saw the performance last night and agree that Chester might be sick or possibly exhausted from the latest tour. However, I like the fact that he’s human and can make mistakes he and there and improve upon them. Besides which, I would like to see any other vocalist put their heart, soul and energy into countless performances Chester has given US. The last thing I want to see is Chester & Mike lip syncing up on stage. Congrats on the AMA and get some much deserved rest. You guys have earned it!!! On a side note…my Living Things LP has shipped today. One more to add to the ongoing collection!! [biggrin]
I can NEVER get tired of wachin LP this time the music it self seemed a little different and Chester’s voice was a bit off but what can we expect poor guy hasn’t had much of a rest they’ve been touring for months now, I’m sure his vocal cords r n dying need of a vacation.my son plays football and I’m screaming the whole game and my throat is done by the end of the game I can imagine how he must feel …over all they still rocked the hell out of that stage they always do \m/
Yeah kind of agree on that. (Also in my opinion even Mike’s voice for Catalyst during on stage performance goes bit different…) Anyways they do their best for fans and we support them always
LP 4ever :)
Exactly!
I noted that several performances seemed “off”…not just LP, but the acoustics sucked for TV fans. Having heard LP in person…and in rehearsal. I can tell you that they are not often off their game. I don’t know if they could hear themselves…which is a total sound issue.
