ATS is my favorite album so far! I think that this album is so Powerful and Unique, a Masterpiece
I love ATS so much I just bought another copy. Special edition, It came with a DVD and MP3 audio of Linkin Park live in Madrid, bonus. Now I have 2 copies of ATS, one for home and one for the car.
Bring on Living Things!!
I don’t agree that they were pointless, they added a whole to the album and made it so much more than just a bunch of (great) songs.
And actually the lyrics for Jornada del Muerto do come from a song. “Mochiagete. Tokihanashite.” is Japanese for “Lift me up. Let me go.”
A Thousand Suns is the most artistic and the most ultimate piece of music I have ever heard. And the ability to call the whole album one single piece of music is a big part of that. But also the sounds, the experimental artistry, the amazing lyrics and the great voices of Michael Kenji Shinoda and Chester Charles Bennington plays a great part.
It’s my favourite album of all time.
Below it rank Minutes to Midnight, Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and the glass handed kites (Mew), Endgame (Rise Against), The Open Door (Evanescence), and Fallen (Evanescence) extremely close, but in that order.
I know this topic is old but I just wanted to show my appreciation for this album and how I just noticed the influence of fort minor on this album. ATS is definitely one of my favorite LP albums ever behind Hybrid Theory.
I thought half the album was great, for example, songs like Burning in the Skies, Waiting for the End, and The Catalyst were really good. However, the album is my least favorite because of the songs like The Requiem, Fallout, and Jornada del Muerto. They’re just bad.
ahhh what? Worst? It’s definitely one of my favourites! It’s got such a big sound to it, I love all the heavy bass sounds in it.
I think that if you’re going to discuss A Thousand Suns, you can’t just talk about the musicality and the craftsmanship behind the instruments, but the overall thematic ark of the album as a whole. It isn’t just an album, it’s a story, a concept, and in my mind a work of art.
