Your Question For Rob Bourdon - Upcoming LPU Chat (new Q&A)

Hi Rob!
First, even if it’s late, happy birthday and congratulations for your career, I saw you live twice and you really impressed me.
Now the questions:

  1. Now that Mike told us that Linkin Park have changed their way of creating the next album (first lyrics with only acoustic part and then the song), are you involved in the lyric, melodic part or you’ll be part of the creation later?
  2. THP was a fantastic album, full of great songs which are really great live. Why during your last tour cycles did you add only 2/3 songs per show from your last album? I think ATS experience have been great also thanks to different live shows!
Hope you can give updates on the next one, thanks if you’ll answer :slightly_smiling:

Hollywood undead, I like the band; but very much diff from LP, not as serious as LP is

Will you guys come to latin america in 2017? ( Mexico <3 )
Do you want something like Guilty All The Same?
Will there be Drums solos in the new album?
Has it been difficult at anypart of a song of the new album?
What is your favorite part of Making the new album?
How many time do you spend in the studio?
What do you do in your free time?
When do you think the new album will be finished? Not released.

Can you like our LP page? https://www.facebook.com/LinkinParkFansMexicoYMas/?ref=hl
(last one is a joke, only if you want :D)

We are a kinda big LINKIN PARK fanpage, 10k likes  hope you answer some of our questions.

Hi Rob & happy belated bday!

I have two questions for you:

  1. What keeps you motivated through the hardest times?

  2. What is your biggest dream, right now?

Thank you, good luck with the work on the new album & greetings from Romania!

Best,
Diana

This is our question: what they like most about the Mexican crowd?

Hi Rob.
We all know you have The Carnivores Tour with 30STM and AFI.
So my question is:
What do you think about Shannon Leto?

Hey Rob. I love your music, you’re very inspiring person. I enjoy this form of comunication with fans.
I wanted to ask you about thing very important to me, but my friend forbade me do this.
So my question is:
According to you, what is the most important thing about being a musician? What kind of person I would have to be, if I want to be a musician?

1.a Is there a song that was released on a LPU CD that you would have liked to see finished?
1.b If so, do you ever think you might get around to finishing it and releasing it as an exclusive?
1.c What’s the oldest song you’ve ever gone back to and polished up?

What’s your favorite car?

@JonW99 The chat just ended

None of our Q´s was asked, not even that with 21 likes by @samuel_the_leader, what a pitty…@everybody responsible…:persevere:

Really? I haven’t seen it whole yet. But I think the previous system of chats was better. Yes, it was quick, but the band should answer the questions which attract their attention. They might find different questions interesting than people here or LPU Staff think.

Text chats were the best ones. Webcam ones mean less questions get answered.

You mean like the reddit ones?

Well, last year Rob spent 1 hour with us and answered all my questions. It was up to him how long did he want to sit there and could choose just the questions he was interested in. Better for us, more comfortable for him.

He answered mine but I really saw questions that were not done here in this forum. It couldn’t be called a chat. It was an interview. And yes, I agree with @Monika9, the last chat with Rob (last year) was one of the best lpu chats I’ve ever seen. Although the idea of select some questions is a good one, I think he could have the opportunity to choose live questions too. It would be more dynamic.

Nah, I mean chatrooms. It’s how they used to do it before using video - the band members would just be typing like the rest of us.

Reddit’s not bad either, though, with its vote system - but, then, the band members may as well just turn up on this message board and do it here or something

EDIT – also, they used to have moderators who would control the flow of chat, and organise turns for people to ask questions based on what letter your username started with, so there was less clutter and more questions, and, then, people would pipe down as the band members responded in rounds. It was all very neat.

The transcript you see on this page from a chat session in 2009 shows exactly what I mean. If you can handle the bright text colours. A number of the chat sessions from the mid-2000s were like that, I believe.

I personally prefer regular LPU chats as well.

The old typing-only LPU chats were really great, but now I would miss seeing them broadcasting. With the webcam you can see their reaction to the things people typed (even if it’s nonsense/silly questions) I don’t mind the chaos.
The guys can be really funny, and with video chats you get to see all of that, sometimes including some really nice surprises like Chester singing acoustic songs on cam on request, a studio tour, bandmates randomly popping on the screen… Or that sudden crazy iHeart Radio phone call/LPU chat situation with Mike in 2011. Good times.

I think they should answer whatever question they see they feel like responding to in the moment, instead of having the questions decided for them in advance. More fun.
