I recently bought a MDI Controller piano for my computer but haven’t got anything started, not sure what recording music software to use, any recommendations?
sadly me dont make music… ;-; but i write songies ;D
I am currently finishing up a songwriting class at college. I wrote two songs, one in a song form, and the other in a blues form.
Don’t see myself as that good of a songwriter, but I’m just taking risks.
I’m actually a piano player who is into playing European Classical music. My style has recently started changing, but I’m still playing in that category.

Steinberg Cubase 6
Logic Pro 9 (but I think you need a Mac better research that)
Pro Tools 9 is the most common in the studios of the professionals
I don’t have a homestudio yet but I’ve seen hundreds of youtube videos with these three and from what I’ve seen they are realy awesome.
Of course there are also “Fruity Loops”, “MAGIX (far far to expensive for beginners)”, Reason, MOTU, PreSonus…
but the most importent thing is what you like. You know you work with that for hooouuuures so it should fit you go and research in google better youtube.
My favourites for my future homestudio are Cubase, Logic Pro and Pro Tools because I think I could work with those ones.

Yes, you need a Mac to run Logic Pro, I gonna use it myself when I finally come along with VMWare Workstation in which I installed my OS X because I don’t have enough money for a Mac. [biggrin]
Ableton Live is pretty easy to learn, try it out.
I have some tracks here… All of them are instrumentals/demos/cuts, don’t have time/proper gear to do much more. Hopefully this summer/autumn
