Will LP do a remix album for The Hunting Party?

They likely didn’t remix anything on The Hunting Party. They do have some unreleased remixes, like an unreleased Castle Of Glass remix used in a 2013 LPTV (not the Recharged one) and a bunch of Meteora remixes they never put out.

Any attempt by Linkin Park to go into a studio to “reimagine” a song like they did with Reanimation would likely yield great results. They nailed that project. That was taking the original song and “reimagining” it to a completely new extent and then featuring guests/friends on it. Recharged was simply electronic remixes of Living Things. Two different projects entirely. There’s no doubt that Reanimation was a much superior project.

And yes, Linkin Park wouldn’t be where they are in their career right now if it weren’t for Rick Rubin. He completely changed their process in how they write songs. It’s good he’s gone now as the band can definitely produce their own efforts, but his work was appreciated for sure.

Did we ever get that Tech Nine (I think it’s stylized differently but I’m too lazy to look it up) remix from Living Things?

Didn’t know that about Reanimation vs Recharged, but your info is very clear when I think about it. Recharged, garbage…

Yeah, Minutes to Midnight was arguably the deepest they’ve gone in terms of philosophies and ideas on an album, and thank you Rick for helping, but after that, it was getting poppier, and poppier, and poppier. AND SO TO-DAAAAaaaay, RICK’S TIME HAS COME, HE’S GONNA… A Line in the Sand anyone?

^I wouldn’t say ATS is pop. LT is more pop. Pop is easy, catchy music - like first half of LT. ATS is “weird”, it isn’t something commercial, it’s like concept album. Songs like WTCFM or Robot Boy couldn’t be big hit singles. The Catalyst was the biggest single but I never heard it on radio… From LT probably BID was the biggest single and last time when I heard it on radio was…like 3 days ago? And COG I saw some time ago on TV. They’re more poppier, more catchy, more friendly. But again I wouldn’t say they’re pure pop.

I can’t speak on the pop or not matter, since I believe every person sees it differently but as far as catchy songs go, let’s not forget that LP is a mainstream band (sorry if that sounds kinda harsh to someone). No surprise in hearing their stuff on the radio. Songs like WID and BID were made to be radio-popular…

About the remixes, it’d be insteresting to see how Tom Morello and Page and Daron would remix the THP song if they weren’t initially a part of them.

I wouldn’t say they were mainstream with ATS and THP. Just LT honestly. It’ll be such a bust if the 7th album is poptronic electropop again

Pop wouldn’t be that bad since they’re good in making soft music. Album like Living Things for sure would sell very well and that’s good since good sales makes show in any country more possible. THP isn’t selling very good (900.000 in USA at the end of 2014) and that’s why Asia&Australia didn’t get any tour for THP (except 5-show tour in China).

Speaking of album sales, it is extremely weird to me that THP didn’t get more sales than LT or MTM since (almost) everyone was screaming for them to make a “heavy” album. Fans are weird, can’t make up their minds sometimes lol

Fans bought both albums, but LT is catchy album and even a person who isn’t a fan of LP or rock music can buy this. +THP promotion from WBR was so weak, I never heard about THP in media. A lot of people think LT is their newest album. That’s it.
And another thing, sales are getting worse and worse…which is sad. People think I’m stupid because I’m buying CDs and cassettes, lol.

But something came to my mind… Maybe if UIG was added to Transformers 4 and got a lot of promotion, it would become big single and THP sales could be a bit better.

Oh for sure, THP promotion was so damn bad! I always wondered why they kept it in the low… and since you mentioned that, could that be a reason they’re not playing as many THP songs as they should?

But yeah, buying physicals copies is pretty underrated, although it seems like people are into vinyls again. We’re getting somewhere lol

I think these are reasons for playing only half of THP:

  1. bad reaction from the crowd - I’m really disappointed of people at shows, they’re standing like a wood in their places during THP songs. Rebellion is a exception, people were jumping a bit on it.
  2. bad sales and promotion
  3. they are lazy - 2006-2011 was their golden era, especially 2007-2009. Every single tour brought something new, new songs, new setlists. In 2006 they brought back old demo called Readin My Eyes and even created a new song for the shows! During MTM era, their sets were pretty good, when they had only 3 albums in their discography. New tour meant new setlist, and at the beginning of MTM era, new songs to debut. ATS era was also pretty good.

I can’t really speak on the 1st point since I saw them days before THP was released and I was surrounding by LPUers who sang the lyrics ro the new songs so… UIG and FM seemed like fan favorites too.
Laziness? I don’t know… I believe they have stepped their live game up a freaking lot. I sure want some songs out of the set and others back in but performance wide, I think they kick ass right now.

That blows my mind. THP is one of their best albums at this point. I’d say it’s between HT and THP to decide best album. Damn man, someone needs to get this album out there!

I think they won’t, they did the hunting party acapellas and instrumentals album some time after the studio album, so I think they left remixes to do that album

… They separated the vocals from the sound. Or rather, they did nothing really. For the album, they combined the two, but they didn’t really do anything to make an acapella and instrumental version.

@snam89 Same thing with LT but then Recharged was released. Anything is possible with these guys lol

@Tenkaichi I agree, for me THP is better than HT (and I’ve gotten lots of hate for that unfortunately) but I totally believe it’s a badass album!

THP is so much better than HT, lol. THP is better than everything except ATS - only ATS is better than THP. They will never do album like ATS or better :expressionless:

Totally agree. ATS is a masterpiece.

I don’t understand what you guys see when you look at (or listen to) A Thousand Suns. I mean, I really like the album, and the acoustic finale is beautiful, but what is it that you see? It’s a different album with good songs on it, but what’s so special? As for me, I’d say their albums from strongest to weakest are THP or MTM in #1 (can’t decide which is stronger), HT, ATS, Meteora, LT. That’s not to say best to worst, but emotionally strongest to weakest.

I think the chances of Linkin Park making a Remix album of the hunting party are very slim. Mike had said that he wasn’t interested in doing another remix album after Reanimation but later changed his mind when the band remixed Living Things and made Recharged. The Hunting Party has a very raw sound; because of that, I don’t think they would want to try and remix it especially since they remixed their last album. I also have the sense that Linkin Park is too busy. Mike may make another Fort Minor project and Chester is still a part of Stone Temple Pilots and who knows when he might want to revisit Dead By Sunrise again. All the while, they will be working on their seventh studio album.

With that in mind, the good news for you is Linkin Park released an acoustic version of Final Masquerade if you haven’t heard that. I love it. Additionally, the Linkin Park Association (LPA) had their fan community create a collaborative remix album named Viscera. You can find it on YouTube. I would also recommend checking out the YouTube channel named Linkin Park GpLatinoamerica because they add intros and outros to Linkin Park songs. I hope my reply has helped in some way.
