Just like every other playground and basketball court, our gates have been locked and/or chained since the start of the pandemic. Since then, kids have been climbing over the fence almost on a regular basis to play basketball. This weekend, somebody messed with one of the doors just enough to open it and a lot of people have been taking advantage of it. I’m relaying the message to my boss in the morning, and hopefully we’ll get a strong-enough chain to keep everybody out.

You don’t need a chain, you just need a dead kitchen appliance. Cut the power cord off, attach one end to the fence, plug it in. Job done.
