Spent my evening yesterday cleaning my RC after I drove it in wet sand / gravel and mud. Took me almost 4 hours. Had to take the rear off. 
This doesn’t look like a lot but it is.

No, there’s still some left in the really tight places that will come out over time. I lost a pair of shoes to sand because I went in the water with them. I washed them several times and they seemed clean but every time I walked with them afterwards I would find sand between my toes, it came through my socks.
