What are the chances that LP will be playing live at Download 2013?

Next year I decided to go to Download 2013. (Since none of my friends would go to a Linkin Park Only show, since they are not hardcore fans like me). But I was thinking, the site of Download said that more band are to be announced… And I’m really hoping that it’s Linkin Park! I know this isn’t their first time playing at Download, so what are the chances? They still haven’t announced their full tour, right?

There’s always Reading festival!

They need to do Reading again. It’s been nearly 10 years since they last played.

its a pity LP wont be hitting up Donnington as when they played it was awesome but then they could hit milton keynes bowl again or of course Reading or even Sonisphere if they reinstate it next year LP do need to sort out when an where they are playing in the UK haven’t seen them since Sonisphere a long time ago now :frowning:

Yeah! He’ right.

but hey Im going to download as well cant wait its looking pretty sweet this year

If they are gonna play a festival this year, it would not surprise me if they play Glastonbury. Glasto has had its 1 year hiatus and the 2013 festival is going to be huge - Reading and Leeds are also a good contender.

As for Download, it wont happen as the headliners have been announced already - they played in 2008, 2011 as a headliner so if they played 2013, they would be also.

But why wouldn’t they be with the other bands that are not headlines?

because as they have headlined twice before LP expect to be headliners as it gives them more promo more time to perform and everything else that comes with it

Reading & Leeds announce part of their line-up on Thursday, what does anyone reckon the chances are of LP getting announced there? Given that they have yet to announce any UK tour dates, I wouldn’t rule it out…

0% chance of playing Download 2013, as already discussed. As much as I’d like them to, because I’m going.

Leeds/Reading…hm… although I’m from Leeds, never been to a Leeds Fest (not my cup of tea these days since it went all Indie) however plan to go next year as Deftones announced. Not sure if L/R crowd’d appreciate LP? It’d really surprise me if they were announced to be honest.

Hopefully not as I am not going xD

I don’t think Reading has really gone indie - there’s a huge mix in there - rock, alternative, indie, punk, metal, electro and dance. I think Linkin Park could do Reading - they headlined in 2003 and pulled it off well judging by the YouTube footage. Given their change in style Reading seems to suit them more than Sonisphere (which won’t be happening this year) and Download. With a more electronic/dance-y undercard (e.g. The Prodigy) it could work.
