Happy Birthday Rob!
One of my alltime favorite Linkin Park songs and also tattooed on my right arm. Iāve got alsothe lyric picture and itās my favorite part with
āI donāt need you anymore, donāt want to be ignored
I donāt need one more day, of you wasting me away
I donāt need you anymore, I donāt want to be ignored
I donāt need one more day, of you wasting me away
(With no apologies)ā which follows the encore! This energy, this scream, this drum and bass play and also the guitar plays compared with Joeās DJ skills - fantastic! Itās a perfect song to get some negative feelings about an ex girlfriend/boyfriend or family member or friend from your chest and come to an end to move forward!
One of the best two versions are from āLive in Texas 2003ā - still confused, why this song wasnāt make it on the cd version , also it was the opener for their setlist
and also the version from āRock am Ring 2004ā - Donāt stay were the opener too
When do you start listening to Linkin Park?
Yes, after Linkin Park changed their style with Minutes to Midnight and even more with a Thousand suns, many trolls and haters were getting up. Iām honest with you all, I had my problems with ATS too, but sometimes a good album needs some time to get into you and also you need to grow uo (with this album for example).
I just can āsayā the same things - I love the connection and discussions here, bc Iām a Linkin Park āhardcoreā fan since almost 19 years and Linkin Park will be forever on my Top 3 number 1 bands. I like to get into the songs with all you! This is what music about - Connection and feelings!
youtube community is so awful - Iāve got one of the top comments unter the āWorldās on Fireā video and two of these trolls discussed unter that comment, whoās the ābetter gangsterā which includes over hundreds comments
Do you mean the AMAās incident, where Mike, Brad and Rob were ākicked outā for a while?
Thatās it and they havenāt a feeling or giving a damn about people, who get mental problems bc of that. Thatās just dissgusting! Iāll never understand why people get into the internet just to troll someone or say that āthis song, album, band or musicianā is sh*t - I donāt link many bands, musicians or music genres but Iāll never a troll like that, to write every day the same annoying sentences
The internet needs some love and respect.
Way to late! Here you find my story.
Me too.
Thanks,i look in it sometimes but never really got into it, but iāll have to do it!
Cool!
Yes,the lyrics really are powerful! And also musically soo great!

yeah.
You are so right!!! Love this!
It seems like wasting their time on things they donāt like(or,hate) is what they prefer over talking about things they likeš
No link, just talk. Actually if you watch some videos, you can see when he zones out, itās obvious since he never did it before at shows. Heās talking to Chester or is remembering something. 2.5 years, depends on the person and the support they have. Mike has a shitload of support. Only he knows how he truly feels and if heās truly okay.
No, I mean the PT tour.
Oh so he āzoned outā during the Post Traumatic tour while on stage? I havenāt seen too many of those videos I must admit. Maybe the performance was staged this way? When you remember something you really do need to stop and think about it especially if you donāt want to misrepresent the past which is easily done. Taking his time to retell a story is probably a good thing rather than bad. Iām sure he has solid support, but really you need to mentally support yourself and not let yourself get pulled into the darknessā¦ Breaking The Habit style
I have to ask: How old were you when you started listening to Linkin Park? Iāve been listening to them since they first released OSC in the UK (January 15, 2001) when I was 16 so Iāve basically grown up listening to them for half of my life!
Congratulations! Just ignore any idiots on YouTube because nobody should pay them any attention. I only read comments from the fans just to see what they think about songs or performances to see their reactions and feelings
This is definitely true and always worth saying that taste can change overtime. Sometimes you can listen to a Linkin Park album after a long while and really enjoy it when you didnāt originally. I have to say this is unique to Linkin Park because they experiment with so many different styles that they can appeal more widely musically to everyone. Although I have to say Iāve never heard a bad Evanescence album in my life Synthesis is a fucking masterpiece. I wonder if 2020 will change this
@Linkineli Better late than never joining here! Iāve often discussed LP online but not on this āofficialā forum which I didnāt know existed because I donāt delve too deeply into fandom. I personally donāt like the concept of celebrity and anything outside of their talent, in this case the music, matters. Although I always felt an akin to Chester because he came across completely genuine and real - particularly through his voice. Whatever he sang you felt it, even if you didnāt want to. Just incredible. And very rare. I donāt think our lifetime will ever experience this type of singer or spirit again. His voice was simply stunning.
On that note, even though this performance breaks me everytime I hear it, there is nothing better to describe how special Chesterās voice truly was :ā)
Who said that was a baby pic of him? Thatās him CURRENTLY
Bloody hell this thread is focus intensive
So youāre saying a painting Mike did in art school is what @IronSoldier16 looks like now?
How is this thread focus intensive?
I really enjoy reading this threadā¦ maybe Iāll put my two penny worth in at some point too.
Does it truly surprise you that the boy wonder is a psychic fortune teller too?
It was 1am and I was losing my place every few minutes lol
Iām a ā91ās kidā and started listening to Linkin Park in summer 2001 with age at 8 (I turned 2001 also 9) -I had a very small tv and saw the boys with āCrawlingā on MTV - what an impact. I was just like āwowā .
before Linkin Park I were also introduced into āheavy musicā bc of my dad - heās an absolute āoldā rock and heavy metal fan, so before I heard Linkin Park, I listened to bands like Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Judas Priest, Motƶrhead, Metallica (my other #1 band) and many mores. Also a little bit of KoRn, P.O.D, SlipKnot, SOAD, Limp Bizkit but I start loving these bands shortly after Linkin Park - I wish I were a little bit older back in the early 2000ās so I could made it to concerts like Rock am Ring 2004 or 2007 (my tattoo artist was there with 18 and every session he tells me, how awesome Linkin Park was 2004 at Rock am Ring)
please do it - would be awesome to discuss with you too about lyrics or maybe LP tattoos
also Hybrid Theory and Meteora ranks in the top 25 Nu Metal albums in the Top 10
Question: How about discussing the lyrics for crawling as the next one?
- Long story short, I was introduced to LP by my dad at age 6 but didnāt really ādiscoverā them till age 10 when Meteora came out.
- Favourite album is A Thousand Suns, Waiting For The End was the first song I ever had a breakdown listening to.
- I consider Mike one of the greatest musicians/artists/influencers (call him whatever you want to call him) of our time and LP is one of my top bands to have ever seen live (not in the top 3, but theyāre high on the list. And I take an artistās live performance very seriously).
- Currently have 2 LP related tattoos that I swore I would never get when I was younger, but now hoping to get a 3rd soon.
- I donāt really listen to them anymore and I donāt think I care if they come back or not at this point. They were the band that made me fall in love with music and nothing will ever change that.
This is great to see I really enjoy reading everyoneās comments too.
That turning point when you go from liking music to loving it is something special. I hope LP do continue because their music and message is so unique. ATS is an album Iām often unsure about but I love it for its message. It is very powerful in tone. The Messenger is just pure hope in 3 minutes.
He will neither confirm nor deny if he is the Linkin Park baby! Weāre still waiting to hear from himā¦
Wow you were very young. I donāt think I could have understood Linkin Park at that age myself. It definitely feels a bit too dark lyrically but musically the rock/rap sound can be fun to rock out to. The Crawling video is iconic, I remember watching it and loving that goth style. Crawling is the type of song you instantly recognise, I think the production is one of the very best. Lyrically it was ahead of its time, it deals so openly and honestly with mental health. They were really pioneers back then. It showed us that everyone had doubts about themselves and struggled and it was ok to feel this way! :ā) Thatās why I love Linkin Park.
āDiscomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me
Distractingā¦
Reacting
Against my will I stand beside my own reflection
Itās haunting how I canāt seem
To find myself again.ā
Your dad sounds so awesome!
@drounzer Some of my favourite lyrics here
Itās not so easy to bring my words to this song onto paper.
So I answered every other topic I planned to, just to put it off. And now Iām tired.
There are a lot of Linkin Park songs, I am so in love with, that feel like truly āmy songsā.
Crawling is not one of them.
And I canāt say way.
The lyrics hitting home with every word. But I donāt want to go into this more. Donno why, itās not me, to hold something back.
This song is so much Linkin Park.
This is, what makes and defines them.
And of course Chester. Itās so him.
But on the other side canāt I seperate him as much from the rest of the band. For me, they have done this together, Chester was the one who presented it, not only with his unique voice but also with his outgoing way to show us who he was, what demons hounded him.
I do love listening to Crawling, especially all these different live versions.
Hm
Thatās it, I think.
thanks for that - what got you tattooed?
Weāre on the same page for Mike - itās just awesome how he can play so many instruments and even produce so many awesome stuff ājust like thatā
the last one makes me a little bit sad, why donāt you listen to them anymore? Iām also listen to Linkin Park not every day, but when on university day, for example, I listen to some of Linkin Parkās songs, bc many songs on my amazon playlist called āVictimizedā and this list is on shuffle

To find myself again.āYour dad sounds so awesome!
Yes, I turned ā9ā in 2001, but like I wrote, I were introduced into music (the good music) very soon - I couldnāt understand the lyrics at that age, but I just enjoyed the sound, the voice of Chester and Mike and also the look with spiky colored hair and tattoos and also ābaggy pantsā
Yes, my dad is still that āRock and Metalā guy/dad. He was my companionship for the Metallica (Number 2 of my other absolute favorite bands) concert back in 2019 in Berlin besides one of my best friends. I bought the tickets for my dad and me and he was like in his 20ās again
Nice to read - it fits perfect with my own thoughts.
Crawling will be forever my first ever Linkin Park song and my alltime #2 song - The lyrics are so intense, the sound so heavy and the scream just perfect. I need this song, to get feelings, like mentioned in that song and video, out of my head.
Also I think just the way youāre thinking: āBut on the other side canāt I seperate him as much from the rest of the band. For me, they have done this together, Chester was the one who presented it, not only with his unique voice but also with his outgoing way to show us who he was, what demons hounded him.ā
Also Iām in love with all the versions of Crawling - with special intro from āHHHā, Reanimation, Piano and of course the original one
@HakManLP I already had a tattoo before getting my first LP one, Iām a major sucker for tats and I want a lot but I donāt know, I always said having a band tattoo is too permanent, canāt guarantee that youād love that band forever. But then Chester died and it kind of hit me. So now I have one dedicated to him and one dedicated to Mike.
I donāt know why I donāt listen to them anymore. I discover so much new music every week itās insane keeping up. I donāt even have every LP album on vinyl! I do enjoy playing LP songs on the piano the most though, and I try to do it as often as I can.
Waiting For The End was the first song I ever had a breakdown listening to.
For me it was iridescent,it is so so so so beautiful, when i was listening to it i was crying because of how beautiful it was,the words and music they were using, and also how much i felt like they were talking to me . Linkin Park was the first band i really felt connected with, the first band i could call my favourite band and that made me fall in love with music,as you said too, that made me want to really understand or try to understand lyrics, but not bc i felt like under pressure āyou really need to get that, come onā,i donāt really know how to describe it,but because i felt like i needed to listen to it closely bc from the beginning i felt like they could help me,that there was something special.
I consider Mike one of the greatest musicians/artists/influencers (call him whatever you want to call him) of our time and LP is one of my top bands to have ever seen live
Yes, Mike is absolutely such a genius, sometimes i canāt believe to live at the same time as such a great, smart, wonderful human being.
Currently have 2 LP related tattoos that I swore I would never get when I was younger, but now hoping to get a 3rd soon.
Cool! when i was younger,i also swore to never get a tatoo, but now all i want is an LP tatooā:joy:
I donāt really listen to them anymore and I donāt think I care if they come back or not at this point.
I would love to see them coming back, unfortunately iāve never seen LP liveā:sob:,and if they ever come back it would be the greatest thing ever for me to see them.
Itās not a bad thing that you donāt listen to them anymore and itās obvious that you love them, but i just couldnāt live without hearing their music or at least one of them talking in interviews for at least once/twice a week.
Something is just missing then, and i need to hear them in my life.
Listening to Linkin Park is like coming home,itās the best home i could ever have.
turning point when you go from liking music to loving it is something special.
Yesš
hope LP do continue because their music and message is so unique. ATS is an album Iām often unsure about but I love it for its message. It is very powerful in tone.
Yeah,i hope it too ,and yess it is so powerful, and love your words about the messenger: pure hope
Wow you were very young. I donāt think I could have understood Linkin Park at that age myself
Yeah sameš
Crawling is the type of song you instantly recognise, I think the production is one of the very best. Lyrically it was ahead of its time, it deals so openly and honestly with mental health. This. I love your comment, really good thoughts!
The production ,soo great ,youāll always recognize from the first notes played;and the lyrics are so powerful without any complicated metaphors, just straight away whatās it about. I admire this song, how it was made and how honest it is, it isnāt one of the songs i listen to often, but it is important that it exists and itās great, and when i listen to it,iām instantly in it
This song is so much Linkin Park.
This is, what makes and defines them.
And of course Chester. Itās so him.
Youāre so right.
have done this together, Chester was the one who presented it, not only with his unique voice but also with his outgoing way to show us who he was, what demons hounded him.
Yeah,he is the voice that screams out all the collected thoughts from all of them.
Weāre on the same page for Mike - itās just awesome how he can play so many instruments and even produce so many awesome stuff ājust like thatā
He does it like a natural thing,itās crazy
Yes, my dad is still that āRock and Metalā guy/dad. He was my companionship for the Metallica (Number 2 of my other absolute favorite bands) concert back in 2019 in Berlin besides one of my best friends
Thatās awesomeā:metal:
Your dad sounds like my uncle- when he found out i had some metallica songs on my playlist he was freaking outā:joy:and i also told him about Linkin Park, and now everytime we meet he tells me what live concert he had watched by them(on his new TV),so sweetā:heart_eyes:
Crawling will be forever my first ever Linkin Park song and my alltime #2 song - The lyrics are so intense, the sound so heavy and the scream just perfect. I need this song, to get feelings, like mentioned in that song and video, out of my head.
I also love your thoughts- this song is just needed;the lyrics are the most intense thing in this song . Yeah, good for getting feelings out of my head,or sometimes it feels like, just like in the song, out of my whole body.
Btw,do you mean with āfirst lp song everā it is your number one favourite song,or it was the first song you heard by them?
So now I have one dedicated to him and one dedicated to Mike.
do enjoy playing LP songs on the piano the most though, and I try to do it as often as I can.
Thatās great! i love playing them on the piano too, i just learned how to play one more light(i also wanna play it on guitar, but piano is my first, better instrument)
Holy shit. I missed out a lot
I never fully trust anyone, which is probably weirdā¦ But I think trust is earned and something you give when deserved. I think the person you learn to trust overtime is more genuine than someone you trust just because they make you believe you should. I donāt know if that makes sense to you but it might help her. Trust is a slow process and any breach of trust is a learning curve to ensure our futures will be better.
I agree on you with the trust, and i understand you. I truly donāt trust completely, only my parents and brothers. I trust them 100 procent. i know that i can count on them when i need them. And today i had a good conversation with my bestfriend i know for 15 years. (btw itās a other friend i talked about in the other topic, its not the friend with relationships problems) I trust her to. But i know we have or differences on some things.
Trust is what that needs to build over time.
But i do had friends that took my trust in there benefit to take me down. I hate those peopleā¦
You talked about the song From the Insideā¦ i like the part where Chester screamsā¦ just scream the facking agression of your chest.
Never change for anyone at the end of the day you only really have yourself so always be who you really are. We all think youāre amazing
Thank you for you kind words
I working on it to be myself. I know that i need to work on that. But i hope i will get there soon
And everybody seemed to know exactly, what the remaining members of Linkin Park have to do
Thatā¦ just that makes me angry let them do what they want to doā¦ there are so many things in live that you can do. And i understand very well that the remaining bandmembers want to search for something elseā¦ then just LP. There is so many more things to explore.
Iām a major sucker for tats
Count me in! i have 3 tattooās now. I really want a LP tattoo. Buy money tells no. fackā¦
The song i also listen a lot is Guilty All The Same
Youāre guilty all the same
Too sick to be ashamed
You want to point your finger
But thereās no one else to blame
That what i feel for my ex-boss. And i feel the same feelings for some of my coworkers.
More things will come. But now i off to Dreamland.
Take care lovely family.
