So…just got my tickets to my first LP concert at Camden. General admission crazyness will be occuring for sure. Any suggestions on how to survive!? Or any stories of experiences in LP pits?

And you will definitely not be disappointed. The guys give a tremendous show every time and I think that we can all agree that’s why we are all fans and lpu members. Chester’s voice does not change at all during the whole show and I am proud to be a fan!
I have always done the GA, but each venue is different from what I can see. Some venues have smaller sections AKA “the pit” and other venues are a rather large GA floor. I have done GA floor every time. I went to a concert last year and waited 2 hours before the show and got front row… well second row because of the story I am about to tell…
I was at a concert out of state (not going to say which concert) and I was absolutely thrilled when I got my ticket checked and found myself practically at the stage(minus the small aread for photographers and security). There was a woman by herself in front of me and my husband that kept turning around to look for someone. During the opening act, I kept whispering to my husband, she better not be thinking that she’s gonna let whoever into this pit, especially in front of me and my husband… so at the end of the setlist of the opening act what happens next do you ask? I hear the woman talking to a security guard that they just finished the meet and greet and that she would be down soon? WTF!!! are you serious? if you get a meet and greet, sorry but you shouldn’t get to have front row! What I didn’t understand is that the security guard lifted the girl right in front of the barricade and the woman let her child in front of her so now I had to be behind them both… and I was on a tiny 3’ platform which ended behind where my heel was and so I kept feeling like I was going to fall off. The area behind me was already filled all around me so i had no room whatsoever let alone for another human body to be squeezed into the mix…
Although, It was the best experience having front row… but during the whole show the woman kept giving my husband dirty looks like he was trying to rub one on her!!! the nerve!
I was right in front of Phonix the whole time and kept making eye contact. I was in heaven! He even threw me his sweatband but of course the girl in front of me caught it… >:o/
Now that I’ve done front row, I will be sad when I don’t get to be in the front again… Oh and my hubby got one of Rob’s drumsticks from the show from Rob himself!
I don’t know about LP pits, but I do know about being in the front row of other happenings and it can be a living hell. You get pushed from behind and from both sides, because people are very eager to get up front… 
I’ve also tried to be very close up front at a Muse concert, where the fans are mostly male. The same applies to LP fans, and guys are usually taller, bigger and much more violent when at a concert, so if I were you, I’d definitely go for getting as close as possible (because the experience is so much more intense and awesome!), but also to take care of yourself and watch out for violent people dancing and jumping around you.
I was in it once at Projekt Revolution in 2007, and omg it was SO FUN. I can’t go back to seats after that! I wasn’t even directly in the front, but I was damn close even after attending the meet and greet. It was just amazing. I managed to get some great pictures too.

My first LP concert was in the pit. Great experience and got me going again this year!
If you want a real concert experience, you gotta go with the pit. Yeah it gets crazy but that’s the point - it’s a rock show ya kno 
Having stories from the pit makes the show even more memorable. I’ve been to concerts where I’ve been stuck in the seats, and it’s just not as fun. If you want front row, tho, you gotta stand in line and not give up your spot or you’ll have to fight to get it back. That’s the price you gotta pay tho for the best seat in the house
I saw Linkin Park in Omaha, NE during their ‘08 M2M tour. I got m&g passes and still managed to make my way toward the front. I was only a couple people back from the barricade for LP’s entire set. I did miss a good part of the opening acts’ sets. I made it back to catch some of Coheed and Cambria before LP came on.
I’m hoping LP will do their m&g early enough for the Honda Civic Tour without making fans miss out on Incubus cause that would suck big time.

i’ve never been in the pit before so on Aug 28th, it will be my first time. IM SO EXCITED! 
Pit. Always pit.
At both of the Linkin Park concerts I’ve attended I got to the barrier, which was great because you need it to hold on to. It gets wild down there. That said, at the Birmingham gig I was the one going crazy. I don’t think the guy next to me appreciated it, but then he seemed more interested in filming the concert than joining in. The whole time he just kept his camera pointed at the stage.
Being at the front can be quite intimate too. You get to see the guys in the flesh (which is crazy surreal) and you can show your appreciation for them by murdering their songs right in front of them.
At the last Linkin Park concert I went to, Rob came right up to the edge of the stage, looked over at me, then threw me his drumstick, which was epic. Normally they lob them into the crowd, but this felt really personal. I even caught it (a miracle!).
It’s the little things like having the guys make eye contact with you, or swaying and jumping with other fans that make it so much better than sitting. However, it is as hot as hell down there. No lie. And it gets tiring. If you get into the pit, try to get your hands on some water, otherwise you’ll risk fainting.
All in all, there is nothing like being down in front of the stage.

I’ve been in that pit 3 times for LP and loved every moment of it.
I’d be there with you… but I just moved to the west coast… so San Diego pit for me.
Here are some photos from the NYC release show on 9.14.10 in the pit… it was great.
I was at the Houston show during the 2011 North American Tour and it was amazing. Though I did have to wait like 2 and a half hours outside I was only 5 rows back. During the wait I got bit by a spider (didn’t even notice it until I got home) and during the show I got really dehydrated. So…watch out for animal life and don’t forget to drink water if you’re going! It was definitely one of the best experiences of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
never been to a LP concert, just festivals where they go to
but wether its horrible or not to be in pit
just do it
its the best experience and most amazing thing in your life if you see them from real close
and can bleed your ears with their golden music
LP pits are not as crazy as you think compared to RATM or Korn pits LOL. Just watch yourself when your surrounded by people and jump up and down when everyone esle does

last year was kinda rough …
on the pit try to get frow row center, because on some songs either chester or mike comes into the crowd. its always fun to have the mic right in front of you on sing alongs

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Your response was perfect! Now I’m so excited! Thank you everyone for the warnings as well. My best friends going with me. And guess what their profession is? SECURITY GUARD. lol. What better company for a LP Concert?
Yeah definitely jump when everyone else does because if you’re short you might get hit in the face…Not saying that I have, but I’ve seen people get bloody noses from elbows like that. And short people have to worry about those kinda things
Ive been to several variety of LP concerts. The last couple shows I have been too haven’t been bad. In 2007 I was pregnant with my first child & had pit tickets … yea crazy right!!! I planned on just hanging out in the back but it was so calm & no one was pushing or anything. Kinda made me mad all these people were being kinda mellow & didn’t seem to be enjoying the show much. I mean they were enjoying but not like I had been use to for the 8 years before that. I had been in plenty of crazy LP concert situations. Passed out, been knocked out, been punched, punched back, I was usually up front row having 1000+ people behind us pushing forward. You just have to be prepared for anything or anyone. hold your own make friends with the ones around you so they can help you out … if you smoke … don’t smoke while you are there waiting for the show to start … it’s rude & trust me if the people around you don’t smoke … you are not making friends! Put your arms in front of you & hold on to the rail don’t push back in a hateful way it will just piss people off & they will push back towards you (hurting you or knocking the breath out of you), just give yourseld enough room to breathe. Oh & one last thing , PEE before getting in the pit & have someone that would be able to leave to get drinks & make it back through the madness. ENJOY!!! btw I have 36+ LP concert experience … hope this helps, but like I said, the last 2 LP shows I went to were pretty laid back compared to back in the day!
