Greetings, linkin park lovers

just a moment ago i was in the LPU chat and like it was completely empty aside from myself and one other person
lately , whenever i come back to visit the chat and see if others are there
there is not much going on…

it comes to a point where some are say ‘‘the community is falling apart’’
or however you shall call it

not to forget to mention the forums on LPU are quite cluttered here and there, the forum has a messy look (Multi topics dont get locked or removed, spam doesnt go anywhere?? or misplaced topics dont get moved)

in overall and im pretty sure im not the only one thinking this
the LPU website itself, needs more entertainment, we need more excitement??
(cause most people when they come here, they go on the forums for a bit or go to the LPU chat but if nothing is going on there, then we leave and thats it?)

i mean, dont get me wrong you guys, its great how people on LPU get stuff like M&G, pre sales, summits
…those things are awesome
but it feels like, the actuall LPU website, doesnt get much attention as it should get, as it actually deserves.

and by that^ im mainly talking about the points i already mentioned:

  • lpu forum is cluttered, moderators seem to not be around as often as their moderator job require them to be? even if they are around much, how come we see a lot of topics around that could be ‘‘moderated’’?

  • the LPU chat could use some excitement(for example, hold LPU inside contests and involve the LPU chat to gather around? just a thought), same with chat moderators, they not there as often as you would like them to be?? mainly when a band member chat comes but thats it?

  • besides the page ‘‘contests’’ which are real contests with real prize giveaways , as we all know, it probably wouldnt be a bad idea for the community to have ‘‘non official’’ contests around every now and then for a bit, you know, to keep things a bit more alive???

i know people have lives and a website is Just a website
but common, lets be honest
wouldnt we just all love it here even more if things were better in order // we had more entertainment aruond on the website itself?

so yeah, to the LPU staff, what are your guys options? whats going to happen with the website and the forum? Do you guys have the opportunity to hire more staff so more things can get done? etc etc
maybe put on some more tasks on the current excisting moderators/staff members? like let them help give the website more entertainment??

i think we all would really appreciate it if Lorenzo?? or other LPU staff could post a respond to this topic ASAP

All the stuff you mention that you’d love to see happen, actually happened in the old LPU days, kind of sad.
I agree that the site is dead for sure and as for the chat room, I am one of those people that gave up on it for multiple reasons. Only fun thing happening there is the band chats (and not always since everyone is spamming and yelling random idiot questions).

I’ve come to the conclusion that the LPU is now just a place to get yourself a m&g or summit spot reserved, nothing else. The “exclusives” are not exclusives and the community is pretty slow seeing that only a couple of people actually visit the site.
I’d love for it to go back to it’s livid mode but I highly doubt it will any time soon. It’s the way fan clubs are nowadays.

Lorenzo, (Adam’s replacement), has yet to be spotted in the forum…[neutral]

That’s the general trend. But hey, they are “chatting with the band” (eg. broadcasting their stupidity to anyone who can see them).

@SD: It’s right what you’re saying about the LPU. It’s very quiet here. Too quiet. But I don’t know why. Well, the forum looks indeed kinda messy. But is that the reason, why so few people show up here? I’m not sure. Maybe it’s like EvaOba said. There is simply no need to show up regularly at the LPU. Regardless if there is a new contest, a band chat, a new LPTV video or what ever: We get informed about that via x twitter and x web sites and I guess a lot of us just visit the LPU after this “invitations”.

I guess, more activity through the mods to clean the forum would help.
And also would help - and that’s way more important - if we could be suprised with news from inside the LPU and not from external sites.

For the chat: I’m not a chatter. It just never has been my medium. Of course I visit the chat room for band chats :smiley: But, how exiting that however is, with this flood of spammers it’s not that fun it could be. But we discussed about that issue a hundred times. Don’t wan’t repeat everything. Let’s see if there gonna be some changes.

I think that there just needs to be something new to bring back people. I think that LPUX really shot people out of the fanclub because of the higher price and less offered

More band activity = more activity in the community. Seeing as there is no real Tour going on atm the place is somewhat dead. Once tours/albums start rolling in/by this place will light up again. Just need to be patient.

Another reason, I think, is that… there’s too many people in here.

LPU used to be a small and somehow very tight group, reserved to those who really wanted it. Now, probably due to cheaper memberships and probably other reasons, there’s so many people, it’s hard to even remember if you had a chat with this guy or that gal any time before, so you can’t really make as much conversations that make a bit of sense.

You do remember some people here and there due to their signature on the forum or their profile pic, but that’s all.

Maybe LPU became too much of a ‘‘business’’ instead of a ‘‘family’’…

Of course the LP community is big. It’s a famous band. And cheaper prizes aren’t bad, because they allow people with small income to join the LPU. That’s nice and social.

But at the same time I think it’s true, that there are a bunch of people who aren’t really LP fans and they mainly joined the LPU, because they don’t care the about the 25$ and they just wan’t to grap a m&g. Maybe LPUHQ could create more justice, by double the chances for a m&g for LPU PLUS members. Or it’s to discuss, to give the m&g exclusively to PLUS members?

Hey Shoe, your right about small incomers, but really only LP fans would become members, and I would be sad not have a chance at the m&g just cuz i can afford the Plus price. Anyway take care over there in Germany!

I think $25 is reasonable. And I’m also for the fact that M&G passes are given out randomly because this way it is less demotivating.

Anyway, I do agree that the forums can be better organized.

It’d be a great idea to create more events for LPU members, more prizes. Maybe LPU members can have a pre-concert party and post their photos here…

I like that I receive newsletters every now and then about chances to meet LP. But the fact that it requires me to fly all over the world is just too much financial involvement for me. So it’d help if we get more benefits as LPU members, right from where we are.

To add my 2 cents - I haven’t been on the LPU forums for maybe several months now.

For me personally, I find the forums clutted, full of repeated topics, spam, and old news.

I go to lplive or other lp fan sites to read the forums and discussions on the latest news or rumours.

I believe that LPUHQ need to find that “something new” to bring the community back. I don’t know anyone else on here besides the small group of friends that I met at the Sydney Summit.

Visiting the chat? I don’t bother these days as no one is ever online.

What grabs my attention, what keeps me coming back paying my yearly membership fee are the videos!

The exclusive LPU videos are what keeps me part of the LPU. They are windows into the bands life, and as a fan that is exactly what I want.

BUT recently the last year or so, the LPU videos have become too short, and less frequent. We’d be lucky to get a video for months, and even then the video is less than 2 minutes. (This is during recording and touring season too).

With the cost of living rising everyday, it’s now that I am thinking twice about repaying for a LPU membership.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as big of a fan of LP as the next guy but I don’t see where my money goes and what I am paying for.

Hopefully LPU HQ wake up and get back to work :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t ask for too much. I’d say we get more than our money’s worth out of the LPU, stuff like the reserved spot at SSMF, that was worth the membership itself.

That’s not to say there couldn’t be some good stuff added to the website. I’d like blogs and such to be made into a feed that you can refresh, so that everytime someone posts a new pic or whatever it just lines up in the feed, like Facebook.
