The most amazing little red marble sized balls, a candy coating, and orangey chocolate in the centre. You can crunch them or suck them. And they taste amazing. They are very similar in flavour to Jaffa Cakes in UK. Think of it like a chocolate and fanta in your mouth at the same time…
We also have a tradition, in NZ, of throwing 25,000 jaffas down the steepest street in country - to see which one gets to the bottom first - they are all numbered…there are a lot of casualties…
Pfft - Australian made candy - yeah…only cos they closed the NZ factory down…bloody Aussies…

it’s basically cake, jelly, custard all kind of layered in a messy way and then, if you are lucky…it is then drowned in some kind of alcohol. If you are REALLY lucky, then the jelly is Vodka Jelly, and if you are TRIPLE lucky, the custard is also laced with some kind of alcohol. It’s just all kinds of bad. If you like cake, jelly, and custard - then you will love trifle!
