The only clue so far is that it has appeared in pics of my second desk. It’s a very specific item.

Guess it’s time for another tiny lil hint? Pretty please!!! Four guesses left… the nearest was it is a tube… you said more specific- so a tube from a racecar you pull the wheels on? Or a screwdriver??

Oh you were looking at that image. I thought there was more at the top of where you cropped it.
It was my soldering stand’s magnifying glass mount. I think it’s made of the same sort of stuff as some shower head hoses/pipes hence @jabinquaken 's guess.
