I thought I would never make it
But I had help from 1,000 soilders
Leading the way
Showing me today is a different day
Saying no need to worry about the past
Because it doesn’t last
Taking me out of the dark
Telling me it’s time to leave your mark

And then I was brought into the light of day
Were I was told to stay
Even when I had no one else
You were there by my side

And when I thought I would never make it
I had a 1,000 soilders
Leading the the way
Showing me today is a different day

Because that will not last
Taking me out of the dark
Telling me it is time I leave my mark

And then I was brought into the light of day
When was ready to give up
You bought me up from the grave
And you put me and that stage

And when I thought I would never make it

Then I sang my life away
That moved the dark far away
Bringing back the light
That was gone
