The Christmas Thread

east has nothing to do with it) Russia is both west and east, the whole point is in religion, in our country Christianity is Orthodox and not Catholic, so people celebrate Christmas on the night of January 6-7

AFAIK itā€™s called Eastern Orthodox( I was too lazy to type the whole name) :joy:

itā€™s simply called the ā€œOrthodox Churchā€ in our country, so I donā€™t really understand your claim, because it has nothing to do with Eastern religions and only Catholics call it Eastern, because they consider themselves to be the main and correct ones, although I donā€™t agree with this, but if honestly I donā€™t give a shit about it, Iā€™m not religious. itā€™s just strange strange to call Christmas oriental applied to a country that is not oriental. learn geography dude and think with your own head, and blindly repeat what they write on Wikipedia.

To us from Europe, the entirety of Russia is east haha. But yeah I get itā€™s about the Orthodox part.

from this point of view, of course, Russia is located east of Europe, but nevertheless we are on the same mainland and for example I personally live in the European part of it))) but as regards Eastern Christmas, itā€™s in China for example)) haha)

Thereā€™s multiple types of Orthodox, Greek and Bulgarian are two I definitely know of, now it turns out thereā€™s Russian too. In Bulgaria we celebrate on the 24th/25th, same as most others.

Mexicans(catholic) celebrate Jan 6 as well-just to throw in a wrench into it :upside_down_face:
Religion is same crap, different toilet :man_shrugging:t2:

Makes no sense for you to call it eastern if youā€™re there, but for the rest, the Eastern maybe conceptualizes it to our point of view

That explains why they celebrate it on the 24/25 in Greece too.

In the end, yes agreed

Besides that I heard the name, I donā€™t know nothing about this religion.

Iā€™m raised as Protestant. So not Catholic either.
But sure it came from Catholic, even so the differentiation is now huge.

Even so I like to celebrate Christmas, this above is my thinking.

my religion is music. Despite this, I live in a country in which Christmas is celebrated on January 7th and not on December 25th, in some countries there is no such holiday at all, and this is a consequence of traditions and religion. itā€™s not so important for me, I respect everyone, and therefore I want people to know something about the traditions and culture of my country, if they talk about it and respect other cultures as well.

Hey you,
So the marry Christmas wishes to you are in order tomorrow?
Do you celebrate Christi birth then?
Iā€™m just curious and for sure not disrespectful.
Here we celebrate this already at the evening 24 of December. Today we celebrate the visit of the three holy kings.
:hugs: :green_heart:

Very good divison of assets.

They must have also been on their way home after the event. Three guys dressed up as kings on horseback occupied a whole lane and made cars slow down to follow them.
Iā€™ve never felt like going to the town centre to see them so finally they came to my neighbourhood to meet me,
