SA LPU fans merchandise and import duties

Rikus…yeah I guess an overreaction on my part. What worried me was that my mates ordered on the same day as me but received their stuff weeks ago! But all sorted now!!

I paid the same…around R330.00
I then tried explaining to the Post Office official that it is way too much…that ended up in me giving a short class about VAT and SARS costs…needles to say the official failed my class and I paid the amount…
Hope that the pre-ordered tickets do not come via post. If I had to pay R330 for a $60 purchase…imagine what would happen when the $350 tickets come via post to the same official…2nd bond on my house to see the show I guess…Proudly South African (with unsure face)

Sorry to Hi-Jack the thread, it is the South African way after all!

Do you guys know how we get our LPU purchased tickets for the concerts? I am under the impression that we have to collect from Computicket. Have you heard anything different? Thanks.

Dude!

This is the forum I want. Please help:-)

I paid for my LPU on 25 July and I haven’t gotten my package.
1: LPU FAQ says call your local customs, I called OR Tambo on 011 571 5010/5117.
They never pick up.
2: My contacts details are on the package. Shouldn’t customs call and tell me that I should
come collect my package? How would one know that it arrived. The LPU status says “Fullfiled”.

If I call them, should I give em the order number on my LPU receipt?
Customs is the OR Tambo one right?

Eu comprei o meu kit já tem quase 2 meses e ainda não chegou!!

@Nathi I was also unsure of whether my merchandise was in the country or not. So I took a chance and went to my local post office (after reading the posts on this thread). Thankfully the lady was nice enough to look through the packages they had and she found mine. My order was shipped on 30 July yet only arrived at the post office yesterday. Maybe you just need to go check at your local post office…

@Dane I have been in contact with Big Concerts about collecting tickets. They say they are in the process of doing the seat allocations and will send us emails once everything is finalized, at which point you can collect your tickets from Computicket. They have also assured me that the receipt from LPU guarantees my seats. Honestly don’t know why it takes so long but they do seem to be on it. Guess we just have to be patient (which I’m not good at!)…

In most cases, the local SA PoesKantoor branches cannot do much on this issues…
The overcharging issues must be addressed in the OR-Tambo Custom office (where those custom poes-tjops graded the incoming parcel for the tax in the first place [mad][mad][mad])

@Nathi: I’d surprised that those tjops had assisted you in the first place. Normally they don’t even bother to picked up the phone in that office.
If they’d picked up the phone (1 in 5 chances that will happened based on my experiences), you’ll need the parcel tracking number in order for them to do the search.

Let just hope that my parcels (and any ZA LPU member’s outstanding parcels for that matter) are not stolen by them or those infamous parcel handlers in OR-Tambo [cry]

You are lucky you got your stuff… Mine was posted 31 July and still nothing received.
Did you get the small laminate only or T-shirt plus laminate?

I only paid R90 something what did you guys order? I got my flag laminate ear plugs ear plug holder and tshirt,

I got my laminate! I only ordered the laminate (Not the t-shirt package) and it arrived on Tuesday but the slip said the post office had it since 4 October…
I had to pay R15, nothing bad.

Hey guys, don’t know if it differs from Post Office to Post Office, but I didn’t pay any fees. However, there was a tiny amount of $0.30, for shipping and handling added to my total before paying on the LPU site.

I got all LPU goods in one envelope stuffed straight into the post box. Didn’t need to claim anything over the counter.

Could this perhaps be the difference between the $60 and $25 membership? Perhaps one would have to pay more for larger parcel at PO?

Either way, I’m glad you atleast got your mech, word is there are still loads of people waiting for the theirs.

See you at the JHB show!

Paid about R330 as well when i picked up the merch…was a while ago though…month or so…tee, flag, laminate, ear plug holder, but no ear plugs…lol…

YEah I also paid R350 :frowning: And half my stuff wasnt in there
