Rock am Ring - How to enter Zone A

Hi everyone.
I’m looking for people who’ve attended the Rock am Ring festival in the past!

I’m thinking about driving from Denmark for this festival, but after attending the Projekt Revolution dates in Leipzig and Oberursel last summer (2011), I was kind of disapointed. It seems that the hardcore fans, the moshpit, the fun, and the rocking with Linkin Park, is only up front. When you’re 50 meters from the stage, people are just dull and silent.

So, I’m thinking… at the Rock am Ring festival, “Zone A” is up front, but how do I get there? Do I have to sit in line three days before the doors open? Can I buy access through some special ticket or ekstra ticket? Or do I go to some special wristband station and get a special wristband allowing me to access Zone A?

When I drive 1000 km and purchasing a €165 ticket, I want to at least have a shot at making it into Zone A.

Maybe you can help me with some pointers? Thanks.
-Dennis

You’re so right. That’s why I don’t like open airs anymore. If you are too far away the sound is not as heavy as it is in an arena. And the crowd way back is just standing there…they don’t mosh, headbang or sing along. Really disapponting.

The gates to the stages will open around 12p.m. Or maybe earlier. So you have to be there in time and run to the stage if you want to get into the front…

No no xD

Well when you go to rock am ring there is the camping part and the stage part
ITS HUGE and sometimes it takes you more than 30min to get there! … by bus

Its like every other concert, the early bird gets the worm. So if you stand at the gate to, like saturday, center stage, you wait there until they let you in, then you don’t go straight the stage! you keep right! there is a special entrance for the zone A. When you are there, you get a wristband that says, you’re in zone A.

i’ll give you a link from the rock am ring page: http://assets.rock-am-ring.com/2011/document/file/1345/rar_plan_legende11_08.pdf

Thanks, awesome info. Looks like we have to be there half a week before the show.
Im holding back a while, until more shows are scheduled this summer.

To Reni LP - this is a festival, and i am assuming that the early access is only available at LP only concerts

Happy new years everyone
