I have listened to it twice and I don’t know
It, as it stands, sits at the bottom of the pile
Maybe after a while, it will grow on me but right now
Not a fan of this song
I think this chick gets far too much song time!!!
I just wish they could add a solo instrumental part after the second chorus
It then again…he world is stupid.
Yeah, we’ll get the demos, but for me isn’t the same of having more songs on the album… I know that if they felt that the album would be great with 10 songs, it will be. Is just… I don’t know… I guess I’m a little bit disappointed…
Agreed
It’s ok shellfish in two months everything will be ok
At least It seems
“Battle Symphony”
Would be the only interlude here, and lets hope the other songs really worth the amount of tracks here
My turn! I like the song a lot, I like Kiiara’s voice (as mentioned twice before), but I wanted to hear MORE Chester, and I wanted the instrumental to have more unique sounds. Would have been better without swearing too. Yeah those are the only things I would change. It does sound very very generic pop, but that’s ok for me. It’s about time I have a GOOD generic pop song I can actually listen to rather than the garbage out there. Well done LP, but please put more original sounds in the other instrumentals!
I came back to this thread just to say how big a pile of shit this new song is. I’d rather listen to Recharged for the rest of my life like a weird schizophrenia. I’m not just saying it, I’ve heard the song 3 times and I’m praying to god the rest of the album isn’t like that.
Well, I’ll be honest as usually with Burn it Down I was like wtf? But it’s growing on me! I honestly enjoy it! I can definitely tell this is going to boost their popularity and be all over the radio. Chester’s voice is beautiful but I do feel Kiara is too overpowering in the second part. I was gonna get the “give me everything” but then shhh don’t have $150 lol. I can’t wait for the new album and I assume there will be at least one more single. And the music video. Super excited and the youtube comments are filled with salt as usual. Here’s the thing most don’t understand bands evolve especially LP if they stayed like HT for the past years they wouldn’t exist anymore (nobody wants to hear the same sound every album) even if they act like they d they would get tired of it. I personally love a song and am excited about the future.
Have a great day soldiers! and enjoy HEAVY
Nobody tempt me this time around.
I just said this on Facebook and I’ll say it here as well.
Since a majority of my Facebook friends I’ve met through the LP Underground, I’m probably shooting myself in the foot by saying this.
Now that the new album’s been properly announced with a release date, I am taking Roddy’s ‘Hunting Party’ approach and applying it to ‘One More Light’.
I’ve yet to hear the new single, but from now until May 19, despite whatever they leak onto YouTube, I am not listening to a lick of any new Linkin Park music.
I must admit aswell, I am really impressed with the drums by Rob.
People are going to have their opinions, in mines: the song is great. I love everything and the sound of it. And the more people say they wanted it to sound like this or this way, the more annoying it is. And also the more it’s slowly changing my opinion. I listened to it again and doubt was in the way. Not again. It’s so hard to please everyone. And a opinion is a opinion.
The only right ones are the ones from the band.
Not a lot of responses on the forums:joy: Seems like everybody either working/studying/busy or hating/loving/thinking what the future is going to be like
Why is every fan so heavy? The song is not bad, but sound strange. I like it so much, and we must wait to the album
I don’t want a song that sounds like One Step Closer. I want a Linkin Park song. And to me, this sounds like a random song I would hear on the random top 40 list, it doesn’t sound unique…
And why? Maybe as an aim to attract a different audience? The young snobby hypster type that is glued to their phone screen but doesn’t know how to answer a proper phonecall…? shudders
This song would be more complete if they did a fucking dance to it too. Make it all pop, be a boyband and do the boogy down right…
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The opposite of what I was expecting. Welp!
The lyrics video got so much hate on youtube, so many dislaikes with so little views. Well, 400k views for 3 hours is not bad I guess
So I see there’s a ton of conflicted feelings. It seems to me like this: If you’re a fan of Living Things, this record is going to be your cup of tea. If you’re more into heavy Linkin Park, stay away from Heavy and One More Light. However, I have yet to disclose my feelings.
So they wanted to take a risk by making a pop song, correct? May I ask, then, where the risk is? Look, it’s not a bad song, but it is a bit generic. The guitars could have and should have roared, Chester should’ve been given more time, the song should’ve lasted longer, and the drums should’ve been present the entire time. Leave the drum machine in the pile of terrible ideas that were intelligently discarded. However, I like it. Not a lot, but I like it. It’s not my favorite, nor am I hyped about this new sound. But I like it. It’s powerful, emotional, and generic. Kiiara is actually really good on this song. The lyrics are still a bit cliché, as I said before. But I think if they want to do pop, they just need to add the guitars back in.
Now, the track listing. Please be incorrect information. 10 songs? What was the point in taking 3 years to make 10 songs? Especially if they all end up sounding like Heavy. They better make the rest of this album be so epic that Heavy is an afterthought compared to it. Otherwise, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to defend them. And, if they continue in this direction for several albums to come, then they might lose their spot as my favorite band. Not because I want to hate them, but because this is not the Linkin Park I love now. I love them, but I don’t want endless pop jams from them for the rest of their career. Don’t hate me for saying that though.
