Was washing the dishes earlier and there was a commercial break on the rock station. Getting annoyed I flipped channels and when I got to the pop station the song sounded familiar. Heavy was on the radio. I flipped out obviously, turned it up and yelled lol

I don’t know… I think we should trust LP. They know what they are doing right? After all, they have high hopes that we will enjoy their new album. Let them discover the different genres.

I trust them completely, they are my favorite band for a reason. Plus, I like Heavy. I think it at least feels genuine, unlike a lot of Living Things. I don’t hate that record as much as I used to, but it’s still my least favorite. It feels like they don’t have any real emotional quality to the songs on that record. They feel like they aren’t personal, and that’s something I value in music, at least from Linkin Park.

The only complaint I have about LP trying new things and the new music that’s been out over the last album and now this new song is the sound. To which I mean the sound of LP. Back in the day, even leading up to M2M the music had a sound that only Linkin Park had. It’s hard to explain but I feel when you the heard the music, you knew it was LP and only LP could make that sound. Now it’s starting to sound like everything else. Does that make it bad, not necessarily. But for me, I never used to skip LP songs, but as time and albums have come, I find myself skipping some of their music when it comes on the radio or a playlist. Do I want a whole new HT album to come out? No, but a few songs wouldn’t hurt either. I mean come on, I’m the guy who’s been advocating for a Mmm…Cookies 2.0 for over 5 years now. I guess I’m just crazy.

Damn, but Chester said he was super excited?

I dont know man, this is complicated…

Nothing’s complicated. When it comes out and we listen to it, we’ll form an opinion; some might like it, some might not. The band always says the new album is their favorite and their best work till now, but that’s just them being excited about something fresh.

I don’t care it’s LP, if I don’t like it and think it’s complete crap, I’ll say it. And same goes for not just their music but other things they say or do.

Derek described it perfectly, there’s something missing that makes the music sound kind of familiar.

This is how they wanted to do Heavy originally I feel, and probably will in shows once in awhile:

To anyone that hasn’t seen this, it’s marvelous. Reminds me of “War” of THP, but much better. @evooba, there you go, no need to go to YouTube. We need a studio version.

I doubt this is how they originally wanted it to sound, especially with Chester’s remark after finishing it. This was all discussed a while back now (not that it can’t be brought back up, just saying, it’s not new news).

Also, I don’t think it sounds very good (not even considering the inability to hear Chester most of the time). It’s improvised, but still, it wasn’t that good
