Meet&Greet at Rock am Ring 02.06.12 TERRIBLE AND DISAPPOINTING

Well first of all, you met LP - why complaining? other LPUers here haven’t met them once!
Then: I was at the meet and greet in dortmund 2 years ago and it was the same!
Its been a rule for a long time that you are not allowed to take photos while you get your stuff signed. They did this very early in 2001 up to 2004 or so and then changed it because of a time issue.
In 2009 they had a new rule that just 10 or so ppl were allowed to attend the meet and greet and 2 members were there but you had a quiite intimate time and could talk to them.
When you now have meet and greets with about 60 people or so, it takes a while to get everything signed.
For the pre - waiting. We had to wait about 30 minutes and did some games with hugo and maurice to kill the time until LP came out and signed our stuff.

But honestly, i would not want to get photographed like 60 times with flash etc, its stressful for the band too.

They were friendly at our meet and greet and said hi and everything but they also had to do press so there was not much time left.

As i said: be happy with your meet and greet!! You won it, got something signed and met the band!!

You`re right. It was a honor to have won the M&G. Unfortunately, I had expected too much, but if you look at the videos at LPU, is this M&Gs different as this on friday.: the winners could talk with LP, take photos, replace it, maked a group photo and so one and unfortunately, I had thought it was in the same way as this M&Gs. But now I can only hope to win once again and give my presents to LP.

So,I also got the honor to Meet Linkin Park at Rock am Ring and it was my first M&G.
I’m very disapointed to.I 'm already fan for 12 years now, sind 2011 in the LPU know and it was great to be picked so fast…
BUT: Like Kristin said it was quiet terrible. We have to stand there more than 1 hour all togehter and it was fucking cold.
Also it sucked that we have no possibility to take good pictures with them or anything else. Also the members of the Band did not give me the feeling that they want to meet us.It just had something from a belt and they just signed the things we had and pass it around and that for the Fans who are in the LPU. I ever thougt LP were the Band who does the most for their Fans but at Friday they forget it.
But to say thank you to Adam who were very polite all the Time and give us the chance to be in the Zone A of the Centerstage.

So next thing was the Gig at itself.
I don’t want to say that I sucked, cause it does not,but it was weak for a Gig at Rock am Ring and for a such powerful Setlist. They just played for Songs and than they leave. It was very arrogant from them, sorry but this is how it was. Chester was only one Time in the crowd, still nice but at all they had to do more than this! Sorry but at this Time u disapointed all German Fans.

I still love LP,it’s their genius Music and I try to get to a next Meet&Greet, but in future they have to do more

im sorry for you but hey just be happy u had the chance to see them in front of you .and say hello and get signed a cd .not everybody have that chance .i had a M&G at rock im park .and what i can say it was amazing to see them .so be happy and smile that u saw them[smile].and that lp is doing that for fans the M&G .

I was happy to see them but it there were so many points that sucked. Still be Fan forever.Just hope that the next time will be better, because I don’t have any autogramm of them.I let sign a T-shirt for a friend so;)

Without group photos? WHY? That’s sucks…

My first MG was in Brazil, was also cold and can not take individual photos. But the moments I lived, and have signed CD worth any experience.

for those that did w1in a m&g did you still get advance entrance into the concert?

Hi, I’m sorry that you feel that way, but at least you met them, isn’t that the whole point of M&G anyway?
Plus, you had the front seat at the show. What more could you really want?
Appreciate.

I agreed with Wolfgang absolutly!! I love LP and their music but I`ll missed this LP which is so famous for her love to their fans. Only Mike looked at me but nobody else. And this moment was only 2 secounds and then I was out of the tent without I know how and why…

I hope to ge a new chance to meet LP. I can`t given my presents to Mike :’( I want to heard his opinium about my work or talent). so, now I hope and cross my fingers that I get a secound chance. So many members have won M&Gs 3 or 5 times, so I hope hope and hope

look kristen

i know how you feel since im also dissapointed about the MG i got not long ago at a festival with the guys
mike and chester were looking a bit distracted, just werent focused at all
at least not as much as joe and dave in my opinion
and to me that looked a bit careless
inside i was like ;

but hey
at least i got in human contact with them even though it was just a few tiny seconds
thats what being fan is all about right

‘‘wanting to say hey and shake their hand’’ or something like that
when you are like HUGE fan of a band or artist

did i expected more? yes
but in the end it doesnt matter anymore

to me its more of a lesson

never get your expectations up too high
or else you will get dissapointed in life more than you can possibly imagine

I had a M&G last year & it was a lot shorter than I expected. I think that a lot of LPUers think that they will have all the time in the world for us, but this is not the case. They do have a schedule they have to follow & if they are running behind or might be having issues for the show, that is first & foremost. As stated on previous comments, the M&G is just a bonus to the shows. That’s why they give them out…it’s not like we have to pay extra like a lot of other bands charge. I was thrilled & excited to meet all of the guys, but we all wish we could spend the time with them. Just be happy you were selected at a festival, that’s a lot of people & you were “a chosen” one. At my show we spent money to get there & hotel room only for them to cancel the show. Then we had to go back a second time & pay for transportation & hotel room again. I was just so happy they rescheduled the show & still honored my M&G. I was so worried that I might not get it since they canceled the first show. So, everyone has issues. You just need to go to the show & enjoy it. That’s what it’s truly all about. I’m sorry you feel you had a bad experience, but that is no reason to give up on them. You don’t know why it was the way it was, they could easily have a legit reason…they’re not the type to just keep fans hanging. They are doing what they are told to do on the days of the shows. It’s kinda out of their hands. Think about all the other benefits you get from being an LPU member & the M&G is just one of the pluses.

I’m very sorry to hear that you did not have a good time the other day.

Unfortunately the waiting is not something we can control. The guys have MANY obligations at the shows, and trying to squeeze everything in to their schedule can delay things a bit. Keep in mind that the show was outside, so regardless of if you had a M&G or not, you’d still have been waiting outside…

We do our best to not make the M&G feel rushed, but the truth is, it usually is. There are LOTS of LPU members at the M&G’s and we need to make sure everyone has a chance to meet them. If every person stopped for photos or to chat at length, the meet & greet would be three times as long.

Again, please accept our apologies. We try our best to make sure you guys have a good time. Your feedback is noted.

Adam

It still was good, don’t get me wrong. We all know that they are kinda busy, specialy at Festivals. Maybe we just had to much expectations :stuck_out_tongue:

But was great to meet them, being so close to your favorit Band and give Chester the fist^^

So hopefully they come back very soon to germany, cause I want to see them for the 7th time than

Would it be better if they stop making any M&G?
I think they do the best they can.
Can you imagine their schedule?
What really bad is that you let this ruined the pleasure form the concert itself.

I think we just had to much expectations, too. I agreed with Wolfgang at this point absolutly. The chance to win once again is very low and we all have probably set our expectations very high. It was really amazing to see the boys so close and not only on stage, even it was very short. And Adam had really good care of us.
And because I was honest here I will not probably to win again a M&G but everybody who would be win a M&G in the furture, I wish them to a lot of fun and I enjoy it!!

It is really nice to read that the feedback has been noted. I only hope that the stress for the boys is not too large, because we all want to heard the music of LP for a very long time and to see them
So care really good for the boys and yourself, Adam!!

It really sucks to hear about your bad M&G experience and that there was no group photo at all (there might have been a valid reason for it). While knowing it’s not easy, the band and their staff/crew is always trying - despite their very tight schedule - to make the M&G’s go as good as possible for everyone and it’s nice knowing they do those at nearly every show.

When I look back at my very first M&G in London (2008), I was allowed to take photos of the band members while I got my item signed (There were no group photos back then), but you can tell it totally screwed up the interaction with the band. That M&G was, for me, a disappointment as well when I compare it to my 3rd one I had at Pinkpop very recently…

As soon as you know how M&G’s go and how much time you can actually spend with each member, you’ll be able to spend your ‘seconds’ more usefully. ( I prefer to really interact with them, having a little conversation, making eye contact and maybe a hand shake, while the signatures aren’t a really big deal to me) You will also be less nervous as soon as you go to more M&G’s, and it will be A LOT easier to talk to them, and remember everything.

I’m pretty sure your next M&G experience will be a lot better.

I was there too and it was my first M&G.
I’m disappointed cause there was no groupphoto and that the band didn’t shaked hands or even talked to me. Mike was talking to Brad and wanted to sign my jacket not my t-shirt cause he wasn’t looking! Phoenix wanted to talk to me but the security pulled me out of the tent. not nice!
I AM happy that I saw them, a dream came true! but with their videos and so here at LPU I had a little more expectations. I only wanted a groupphoto too remember that day. now I have only the backstagepass and my signatures.

Thank you Adam for beeing so nice to us. you really calmed me down.
maybe it would be better if there wouldn’t be so many People with a M&G.
“Klasse statt Masse”
so that the M&G become a better expierence for those who won one. thats what I think.

And thanks that we could go to the first section

I’ve never been at a LP concert and I would be very happy, if I could someday. That would make me satisfy. The m&g would be the icing on the cake. So, when you purchase tickets for a show, you might be happy as it is. And after that, you have the chance to get a m&g. If you are lucky, you will go to a concert AND meet the band. It’s a bonus!

The fact, that you are not allowed to take pictures while you get your stuff signed is well known. No reason to complain afterwards. You can take pictures while waiting in the queue as much as you want. That is great, isn’t it? Well, indeed a group foto would be desirable.
Honestly I don’t think, that LP is exactly overanxious to talk to every fan. That’s just normal.

Too bad, that some fans are disapointed. Maybe their expectations were exaggerated. Remember, that you meet LP short time before a performance. And besides, they are perhaps a little tired or also want to have a little break out. Just look at their tour schedule. Nevertheless, they organize and support the meetings regardless how they feel that day. I think we have to see it from a different perspective as well.

Sorry to hear about your meet and greet experience. But if I’m not mistaken MOST festivals do not have group pictures, as they do not have enough room for a group picture…or I’m not sure but my 2nd meet and greet was last year at the KROQ Weenie Roast 2011 and there was no picture, however I cannot complain because I had a GREAT time, guess it depends-- with it being so rushed it can be very overwhelming and you forget things, etc. Like I forgot to give my presents to 3 of the guys, lol. Although it was rushed I wouldn’t trade my M&G for anything I had a great time, the guys were nice to me, they talked to me, I talked to them, I shook their hands, etc. I guess it’s up to you to make it enjoyable…or I’m not sure, but like someone had said a meet and greet should just be the icing on the cake, it’s a bonus. I’m sure you will have a great time next time, try to actually talk to them, spend as much time as you can with them, and try your best not to be nervous. That can put a damper on things, my first meet and greet was like that…I was so nervous that I didn’t even get to talk to them very much, I did but ended up stuttering and that was embarrassing lol.

Best of luck on your next meet and greet I hope you receive one!
